Brings home to those of us who didnt personally know those who died - they were all human beings who went above and beyond on that day. These days thats unusual rather than normal!!

The Glens Falls Fire Dept held their annual 9/11 commemoration this morning, with stirring speeches filled with personal reflections by firemen, the chaplain and the GF mayor. . The solemnity of the bell ringing and the playing of Amazing Grace by a young girl brought tears to many of us at the well-attended service. Though a relatively small fire department, its multigenerational family member history has supported Hometown USA over the past century, and they can be proud of providing another service of remembrance I will remember for a very long time.

My SUNY Oneonta roommate and still close friend, told me today that her hometown of Garden City has the sad distinction of having the most fatalities from 9/11😥
