If only Elon Musk would jump into one of his rocket-propelled Space X vehicles…with Trump and all his current cabinet appointees and pseudo-patriots as passengers. In light of all his space flight failures, Musk and this band of democracy-blasters might be blasted into another galaxy…with no return-to-earth tickets.

My 0430 awakening has propelled me into flashbacks of all that transpired yesterday…and the day before…and all that’s happened in the past 2 weeks. No going back to bed…but maybe rolling rosary beads and some yoga-breathing will ease some of my reality-based fears…for this hour.

I'm with you, Susan.

Ken is describing instances of lawlessness, and madness. I've been thinking of all the James Bond 007 plots, and also the Die Hard series. How does a citizen get access to the federal payment system at noon on a Friday? The new Treasury Secretary is just another puppet. They are all playing with fire.

It is disheartening.

Elon Musk’s Team Now Has Access to Treasury’s Payments System https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/01/us/politics/elon-musk-doge-federal-payments-system.html?unlocked_article_code=1.uU4.g4bG.NhAu7yXsao9H

"Capital Pressroom reported this weekend that Democrats in Albany have been holding closed-door conversations to delay an election to replace Rep. Elise Stefanik in the North Country."

Democrats' conundrum: Fight fire with fire, or bring a knife to a gunfight?

Apparently, they are going forward with those efforts. Definitely, undemocratic, but that is what their opposition has been doing.

If we lose our democracy due to a lawless federal administration that weaponizes federal agencies, a neutered Congress that facilitates lawlessness, and a toothless judiciary, will we ever get it back?

Will we regret not doing everything we can to oppose such lawlessness?

Sounds exactly like where we are today!

Nothing more than a delaying tactic. The Trump/Musk regime is proving they can do a crap ton of damage without any Congressional approval.

Congress is a nonentity at this point.

Speaking of fighting fire with fire, Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, is placing a “blanket hold” on President Donald Trump’s nominees for the State Department in protest of Trump dismantling the USAID. This is a Senate tactic used by Republicans to harass Biden's nominees.

It looks like Elise Stefanik's nomination as U.S. Ambassador to the UN may get caught up in this delay.

I’ve been praying the GOP-ers would miraculously get spine transplants overnite…

and swiftly F R E E Z E 🥶 all scheduled hearings and nominations.

The Reptile Republican Senators/Congressmen-women already sold their souls…so what’s another re-election really worth if their own Social Security and other accounts have been invaded and plugged into Elon Musk’s “servers” by the reportedly post-pubescent team of hackers who commandeered the treasury dept. and other critical websites yesterday?

I believe Sen. Tuberville - the football coach - did this with military promotions for months.

Expand full comment

This Alabama Senator/former coach will never make it to an athletic Hall of Fame…but he qualifies for a Senatorial Wall of Shame… for undermining established military protocols for promotions for almost a year… interfering with household relocations, children’s school transfers and filling of many critical command assignments including a Marine Corps General who suffered a heart attack during the unprecedented delays.

This reckless Redneck Sadistic Senator has also undermined women’s’ health care rights and legislation repeatedly.

My Alabama DEM sister-in-law helped create their first state PPAC to support DEM candidates that drives Tuberville NUTS. (Which also drives my retired Army COL - GOP brother nuts too…especially since I contribute to her PPAC 🙂)

Every one of these Departments were created to assist the people who live in this Country. Brick by brick this current mob of GOP is dismantling the government and leaving us unprotected from them; the most unscrupulous, greedy, cold-hearted, short-sighted group of men in our lifetime. The CFPB is funded, if I am not mistaken, not from taxpayers, but from the fines and monies recovered from the greedy banks and financial institutions. So, why destroy it? Oh, duh, so the poor rich guys can continue to pillage the rest of us. Incredible.

The committee just voted RFK JR. “in”………vote 14-13…

SENATOR-DR. Cassidy should have his medical license revoked for violating the Hippocratic Oath ——> “DO NO HARM!” Bah Humbug!

He should! Full senate still has to approve but if a doc like Cassidy doesn’t object, who will?

I have fought to support the cfpb since it began, and almost nobody knows what the hell I am talking about. One of the first things they did was to establish transparency in your monthly credit card statements. All of a sudden we were told what we would have to pay in interest if we didn't pay off the bill. Everything was made clear. The stores and credit card companies didn't want you to know all these unpleasant details til Elizabeth Warren and Barack Obama set this up for us.

If you know a Republican you should ask why they oppose the CFPB.

Instead of doing what people want, democrats are again doing what they want

I am mixed though.. should Dems behave like the gQpeds and push things to make their agenda work...

maybe a week before the special election, purge voters?

I would like to add, this should be a done deal. If pos_tfnKKK had resigned the day she was nominated, we would have an election date in place. Of course had she done that she would have removed herself not just from voting in congress.. but her pay (along with her raise), insurance and more tenure for her retirement.

I find it reprehensible if wha the dems are accused of IS taking place... but let's not forget..

pos-tfnKKK is also stalling.. for the gQpeds and her own self intererests

It is reprehensible, but comes in response to what Trump is doing which is reprehensible times 100 !

hmpy trmPEDO is doing what he does

corruption at every turn

making all republicans kneel and support that corruption

everything he does is an example:

remember: he freed criminals - - > the insurrectionists

and won't let congress respect the Capitol Police

Well of course. The Trump/Musk administration is headed by oligarchs, an unelected, unconfirmed one of them has literally been handed access to the treasury.

Ken - Senator Bill Cassidy, a.k.a Dr. Cassidy, is the Louisiana senior Senator! I found his website and wrote a letter reminding him of the Hippocratic oath to do no harm…and urging him to reconsider his vote when it gets to the entire Senate. (Of course I added more comments about RFK Jr.’s unsuitability )

It’s an easy website to access just by typing his name.

If more people, even those who aren’t his constituents, flood him with their concerns maybe it could still make a difference. He is truly the proverbial “swing vote”
