Ken, you will do fine.

As an experienced PlayFest playwrite, I think I can answer some of your questions. As with any writing, the staying up late Friday night until the wee hours of Saturday morning is not likely to be spent writing your 6 to 8 page script ... it will be the editing. Give yourself a break and don't stay up all night doing that. Set a deadline and stick to it.

While it is a very collaborative event, my own experience has been that it is usually best to limit the cooks spoiling the broth by NOT being there all day on Saturday. Popping in to say hi and make minor alterations is fine but you could also just let your director know that you're fine with them enhancing/destroying your work in any way they see fit (you can always give him/her your cell number for emergencies). There is less than 12 hours for your team to memorize lines and deal with sets and props and wardrobe ... so the less time spent arguing with a writer who is stuck on a premise or a line, the better. ;-)

The major accomplishment here is not necessarily winning a Tony but simply getting the play performed. So, write your play and let it go. Go see your game and take a good nap today to allow yourself a 1am or 2am deadline.

It's never brilliant but its always fun and miraculous. See you Friday at 7pm (not 8pm). ;-) Matt

Thanks for the great advice from a seasoned pro. I'll be happy to spend some of my time over at the Civic Center watching basketball, although I am very curious to see how the director works.

Stefanik Won’t Let Go?

If Elise is not Trump's VP, then she'll surely be appointed to a cabinet position if Trump is elected.

Secretary of Lying and Disinformation - Unfortunately, she is vastly qualified.

And this shall be her place in history, that is if they're not rewriting history as well.

That could happen as well. Winners write the history.

Enjoyable essays today where Stefanik is an afterthought.

So many, many rationales to hope devoutly that Donald Trump loses the election badly and disappears into the depths of Mar A Lago. Among my leading reasons has got to be the parallel disappearance, or at least diminishment of Our Elise. It boggles the mind that she has no shame at all. We're often advised to "Follow the money." Am I being too conspiratorial to suspect that Putin is paying Trump, who's paying Stefanik? Payment comes in many guises.

Maybe I little too conspiratorial. Maybe more of a quid pro quo. Trump knows that by opposing Ukraine aid, Putin will work to help him with disinformation. That was done pretty opening in past.

You sound giddily prepared for this new writing experience! We will be cheering for you. I am so sick of St-k hammering out lies as a lackey for DT and his minions, but I do appreciate your efforts and your readers' comments in deconstructing and denuding the lies and far right tactics. Interestingly, they fail to harp on the pack of convicted assistants of their leader, now enjoying their daily routine in jail.

Good luck—if luck has anything to do with it—on your playwriting venture this weekend. You have amazing writing skills!

It is beyond shocking.

A reply to Mr. Tingley (which I cannot seem to write below his comment re my original note) - I did say that "Payment comes in many guises." Notwithstanding Mr. Putin's probably being the richest person on earth, payment can be anything from gold bullion to propaganda in effective places to a heavy finger on the scales of Justice. The KGB has ways ......

Sorta like in my profession: seeing “the written word” (love, mercy, justice, kindness, goodness, gentleness, compassion, etc.) coming to life on the world stage—in the everyday experiences of human life.

Would love to know how Elise explains Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy to her son.

She certainly has some far fetched explanations for the GOP.
