Since I was 15 years old I've loved journalism, working at at big newspapers and small. Just lucky, I guess. This is a new form. Music to my 87 year old ears. I read several, paying for a few and will gladly pay for Upstate New York and urge all your readers to do so too.
Always the contrarian, I must object to the "our little island" image. I live halfway between Albany and Pittsfield, MA and feel I am part of your island. I recognize the characters and the struggles and the triumphs. Their names are different but the people are strikingly similar. And, sadly, our congressional representative is virtually the same. (Ick.) So, your missives touch the lives of people far beyond the sweet little city of Glens Falls. And who was it who said, "To fight injustice anywhere is to fight injustice everywhere?" I would argue that to promote truth and transparency anywhere is to promote truth and transparency everywhere. Write on!
I love what you are doing!
You bet!
Many thanks.

So glad I finally became a “ member”
Love what you guys are doing and more than happy to be a paid subscriber. It's a bargain. :)
You touched on the value longtime reporters/editors bring to a community.
In my work people often ask “how long did that take you to make.” My answer currently is “almost 63 years.”
Institutional memory has value but defies accounting.
It has incredible value, especially in the newspaper business.
