I found a terrific explanatory video by Vox about installing solar arrays over parking lots. Vox does a pretty thorough job:

https://www.vox.com/videos/23890834/parking-lots-solar-land-scarcity-climate

"And as more countries, like France, are moving toward retrofitting parking spaces with solar, we look at what it could mean in the US."

In that sentence, "like France" is a link to: https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-solutions/2023/02/06/france-solar-parking-lots/

And, MKBHD, an astoundingly successful YouTuber who specialized in tech reviews, reports -- from New Jersey -- on the success of installing "solar tiles" on his house.

Funding from the guvmint could jump start these transitions and, like the building of interstate canals and railroads in the 19th century, create jobs and economic opportunity.

When my Mother-in-law was still alive and we visited her in Florida, I would have given my right arm to have ANY kind of protection from the sun as we slowly walked with her across acres of broiling parking lots to take her shopping, let alone have protection that also provides electricity to run the millions of air conditioners! Where it’s hot like that, you can probably use every bit of power you make as you make it, but in other areas, storing excess energy for later use becomes an issue. I think that the less we rely on massive, centralized power generation, with its attendant problems of storage and transmission, the better off we will be. The workable solutions for individual rooftop solar do not scale up well.

That premise is not true. Certainly, their cooperation would be game-changing But if the west is proactive it can slow down climate change considerably.

There was clear evidence of cooperation between Trump campaign and the Russians and the Mueller investigation found that to be true. Barr dismissed it all because of the policy about not prosecuting a sitting president. Trump was never exonerated.

I don’t feel Biden is corrupt. And you are right in saying Trump is not an ethical man. But Trump acts like an autocrat and is an absolute danger to democracy. Putin must really like our division now, caused lately by the Republicans.

Politicians threaten a shut down — and then pat themselves on the back when it doesn’t happen. The media should stop buying this annual BS.

I think most of them have stopped buying it a long time ago. That is certainly true of most of the American people, I think.

McCarthy worked for the good of the country. This Democrat believes that.

It didn’t happen because McCarthy works for the good of the people whereas Getz works for himself or Republicans.

I believe McCarthy also works for himself.

How many times did they vote on his appointment? 15? Obviously the man has no shame groveling like that. He deserved whatever he gets for making promises with devils.

Happy Monday. I mean if your assets are not in receivership. 🤣 I had forgotten all about the fraud trial with all of Defendant Trump’s criminal trials. When that news came down it was like finding a hundred dollar bill. 😀

I’m really happy to hear that Brooks Robinson was a genuinely nice guy.

This might interest you about another very nice man. It’s a remembrance of Ed Fancher who was one of the founders of the Village Voice. I’m hoping there’s not a paywall. Don’t think so.
