This is continued important reporting on Stefanik's hypocrisy. Recent podcasts have also highlighted similar behavior from other Republican representatives who claimed credit for funding from bills they obstructed by voting against them. Note here re: Colorado Lauren Boebert: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhlI0A3kEi0.. .we can all help correct these lies by writing to the local officials who are perpetuating Stefanik's misinformation and asking them to apologize to their constituents for their misrepresenting her bad faith claims.

Though your writings are worthy of much wider distribution, it’s scary to discover your work has been stolen in a way that threatens your online security and personal identity. Have to wonder if Stefanik has a tech team determined to undermine your persistent exposure of her perpetual lies/pathological manipulations which she mimics from her hero Herr tRump and his speechwriters/rally rants.

AP and other still-reputable news outlets online/some major cable news programs are now echoing your well-researched truths re: Elise’s twisted claims re: critical legislation she has vetoed. This broader media focus is essential in the weeks/months ahead to neutralize the forked-tongue utterings from Stefanik’s warped mouth/crooked website.

(Though the Chronicle’s editor may persist in his self-serving glorification of Stefanik, his local business ad GOP-leaning tribe may have threatened to pull their ads if he does otherwise.)

Thanks for reminding us of Clemson’s game today, and that Joe Girard III’s dream of NCAA competition has already been achieved! Go Joe!

*Recent research in the journal “Frontiers in Public Health” cites evidence that watching sports, Live or on TV, benefits us all…”with increased feelings of well-being and social connectedness… boosting cognition…and reducing stress.” The NCAA tournament is great timing for us armchair spectators while we hunker down for the storm systems headed our way!

Sedition Stefanik’s hypocrisy is nothing new. From her first term in Congress she portrayed herself as a moderate and that was nothing but a ruse. She would only vote with the Democrats when she was given permission to do so because the Republican majority didn’t need her vote to pass their legislation.

I wondered if this was the case after reading in her weekly newsletter boasting that she had “secured” and “delivered” federal funding or “through the appropriations process” millions of dollars for various North Country infrastructure projects. It seemed unlikely that she would have voted for these efforts. So, thanks for corroborating my suspicions. Seems like there ought to be a law that prohibits public officials from lying so blatantly. Sadly, the voting booth doesn’t seem to be sufficient.

I don’t know if writing local officials and asking them to apologize will have any effect. I wonder if showing up at Town/Village meetings and asking for clarification would better serve the community? Especially if a Reporter is there and we can get it out in our local newspapers.

On another note, if we want to see change we have got to get people out to the polls. I worked the Village of Whitehall Special Election on Tuesday and out of 1330 voters, 29 people voted. It appears that people either don’t know about upcoming elections or are apathetic.

Thank you for your continued reporting on Stefanik's lies. I just sent emails to the two local officials telling them they should be ashamed for congratulating a liar, and they should acknowledge that Elise voted AGAINST the bill responsible for their funding. Perhaps all your readers will follow suit and bombard them with emails exposing their complicity in her lies!!! It couldn't hurt.

Again, thanks for all that you do!

I’d like to comment on the brief article about “ dropping AP” and its ultimate effect on readership being denied the opportunity for national or worldwide news outlets. It’s unfortunate, however, it’s an expected consequence of the overriding fact that print news media is in an inevitable death spiral. This doesn’t necessarily mean that people will be denied access to national or world news . I have

“ discovered” national and worldwide news access is abundant on the internet and conveniently available on Smart TV’s. In fact the variety and amount of news outlets on Smart TV is a bit overwhelming. I grew up in a day and age when there were three networks ( even PBS had yet

to be “ invented”). Nowadays, electronic access to national and international sources of news, commentary and current events is abundant ….if not overwhelming. It is understandable that print media and print media news services are in a death spiral. …..so astute news consumers have moved on to more accessible sources ….like Substack for instance!

Now I am not only alarmed at Stefanik but at the audacious liars or idiots who hold responsible positions in the towns of the north country. I think they just want to stay on her good side in case she and maybe Trump win again. This means they are afraid of her. Surely they know that she voted against the infrastructure they need and want. Just what we need, elected officials afraid of their malevolent Congresswoman.

Although she voted against the bill it should be mentioned she made certain her district received its share. This is called accepting the decision of the majority.

We should also understand not a single dollar is actually paid for, every one of them is borrowed and will eventually be paid by people born long after most of the improvements have long worn out.

Fiscal prudence demanded a no vote. Common sense within the irrational fiscal pasture in which we live equally demands participation in the poison fruit.

Here in the far North, This is how Elise is spinning her NO vote: Quote from North Country Now:

"The town of Massena was also awarded $4.5 million on Feb. 23 as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law General Supplement grant program, which was part of a deal the Congresswoman voted against in November of 2021 calling it part of "radical agenda."

Stefanik is now facing criticism for taking credit for the project due to her vote against the 2021 bill that allowed funding to flow to Massena.

But, she says she was able to shepherd the application through the appropriations committee, fast tracking the funds that will allow the project to commence construction this summer."

So she votes no against the bill, but then takes credit for the funding that flows to her district.

The hypocrisy makes one's head spin.

While I have no doubt Rep Stefanik's OFFICE assisted in coordinating the funds for various projects, Rep Stefanik herself is not someone to thank for these funds. Infuriating hypocrisy.
