Thanks again Ken for calling out our Rep. Stefanik inexplicable defense of Trump. In addition to being in denial that it was a jury that found Trump guilty of sexual assault, let's not forget that she has ignored the verdicts in some 60 lawsuits challenging the validity of the 2020 election results. Many of the judges in these cases were Trump appointees. Yet almost a third of Americans believe there was widespread election fraud. That's because elected officials, like Rep. Stefanik, continue to spread lies about the election results. I can go on, but space is limited. Your 100% right, we deserve better.

65% of Republicans believe the results are fraudulent. To find 8 million votes for Biden two hours after the polls closed sounds a little suspicious. If only DA Willis looked into this.

Thank you, Ken, for once again revealing the loathsome Congresswoman for the self-aggrandizing opportunist that she unfailingly is. I'm tempted to hope she succeeds in achieving her vice-presidential designs, and rids the North Country of her odious self. Happily, I'm still able to retrieve my good citizen persona. Letting her loose on America leaves many more at risk than limiting her impact to C.D. 21. Maybe we will be enough enlightened by the Trump revelations to vote her out next time? Keep blaming the victims, Elise. Let's remember we're all her victims.

Bravo! Well stated. I hope this is read by those who actually elected her.

Name calling doesn't help. Rather, it strengthens the resolve of Ms. Stefanik's supporters and by extension, Trump. What's surprising is that a person with a degree in Government from Harvard can go along with Republican goal to destroy our Government. It's safe to say she is an amoral politician with utterly no values clawing her way to the top. (Doesn't say much for Harvard either.)

I don’t know how you can come to any other conclusion.

To be fair to Harvard, they removed her from an advisory board

They gave her a degree. Maybe they should take that back since it appears she really hasn't learned much.

Should have done my home work. A degree is only revoked for academic misconduct while in school such as plagiarism are falsifying data. A degree is never revoked for political conduct no matter how egregious. Sorry.

Hey Oldsalt65 it appears to me you believe that truth, justice, is the American way. I might be wrong, I’ve been there before and will end up there again.

If you find yourself with little to do and just in case growing you didn’t have or watch Tv. Follow the link to watch the 1950s Adventures of Superman – Intro https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2l4bz1FT8U. I took a bit of artistic liberty, if you watch the clip to its end the word they use is “and”. In a rush, just skip near the end. Time marker 0:49 or just a bit before.

How is it Havard fault or even their responsibility for what you pressive as Elise Stefanik lack of a moral compass? Get in the right magnetic field and that little sucker just spins and spins.

I wrote a reply to my own comment basically eating my words. But I do maintain that any educational institution bears some responsibility for the value system each student takes with her/him. A technical education without a good value system is extremely dangerous.

As for Superman, viewed as children, set us up to fall for the likes of Trump. As a born realist, even as a child I recognized S-man as rubbish and tossed it into my mental trashcan along with Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, tooth fairy and the silly God Jesus Mary fairy tale.

Everyone has a price, E-Lies Satanic sold her soul to "The Donald" Devil Trump. She's just a bought and paid for puppet who will spout out any lies, sound bites, and other worthless chatter to suck up to the power mad King of the "MAGA Moron movement." Everyone needs to realize her lies, and craving for power (and VP nomination) is just a classic play in dirty politics for an empty suit and worthless human being (Directed and Produced by her very own Karl Rove wannabe, Alex "Snake in" Degrasse(hole). She has done nothing in her days in the House, she has parroted everything Trump says (the current court case with E.G. Carroll is only to determine payment amount--a court and jury convicted him so he is guilty of sexual harassment) even if it is an outright lie proven by law in a court. Bottom line, she is a traitor because she has failed to honor her oath to the Constitution to uphold the laws and put the American people first over herself and Trump. SHE FAILED to approve the Electoral College count of the vote for Biden as POTUS thereby dishonoring her constituents. We are watching a sickening slide to authoritarianism and the modern day equivalent of how Hitler became a Dictator who almost destroyed the world. If he had nuclear weapons, we would all be stardust somewhere else in the Universe. Guess what, Putin, Kim, and a few others have that power and what will happen if their own lives, money and power are threatened? Easy answer, Donald Trump will fix it in 24 hours...(and if you believe anymore of BS I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale)! You can't make this stuff up! VOTE IN 24 LIKE YOUR LIFE AND FUTURE DEPENDS ON IT! IT DOES.

Do you suppose Mark Frost would like to read this now that he has endorsed Stefanik...had to laugh when Trump couldn't pronounce her name.

Not long ago she was gung ho about law enforcement. Such is the life of our lying, traitorous chocolate milk princess.

Stefanik should be hoping that neither she nor her child are ever the victims of sexual assault. No one will ever believe them.

A couple of notes about the Rockwell Falls Library board meeting.

The gentleman who was ejected had been on a 1 year ban. He claimed to be there as a representative of a group, the North Country Queer Alliance. He refused to leave and so the police were called. After he left. It appears the ban was justified by his behavior at a previous meeting but he was controlled and polite at this meeting. I noticed that Josh Jacquard took pleasure at his ejection. While other board members sat stone faced, Jacquard had a smug smile on his face.

Among the issues discussed was putting a strategic planning committee in place. Jacquard commented that the board should set limitations on the strategic planning committee. During the comment period I said that I thought putting limitations on the committee was a bad idea. Jacquard denied using the word. But he had said earlier that the previous strategic committee hadn’t been restricted by the board and that “lead to some confusion.” His words.

I went back and listened to a recording of the meeting. Jacquard had in fact said “limitations” and in context he meant setting limitations. It wasn’t a question of misusing a word.

Clearly, when Josh Jacquard denied saying “limitations” he was bearing false witness. Bearing false witness is a sin in the Abrahamic tradition, and Jacquard should search his heart and repent.

My understanding of the Commandment is solid.

I’m not sure what you think I left out. I quoted his word. In the sense the Bible uses I am his neighbor. His denial constitutes bearing of false witness.

In fact, your questioning of my truthful recantation borders on denial of facts or an accusation that I have falsely presented the case. It seems almost as if you set yourself in judgement. You should take care lest you be fall into sin yourself.

In regards to the Rockwell Falls Library… One should ask why this patron was banned for a year as opposed to another- who physically assaulted someone while in the library- was only banned for 7 days????Whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

Expand full comment

I agree that Peter Brady should have a longer ban based on multiple incidents culminating in 2 separate altercations.

I reviewed the library policy and it does seem like the 1 year ban is technically justified by a threat the gentleman made at a previous meeting. I’ve heard other people make similar threats without a ban, but the case does seem justified. Technically. If it were up to me there would be a reprieve on condition of good behavior.

mia_POS_tfnKKK's responses are:

ª practiced

ª disingenuous

ª lies

ª repugnant

ª and NEVER answer the question

But what should we expect mia_POS_tfnKKK voted AGAINST the Violence Against Women act because

(wait for it, as don jr would say)

it made it illegal for boyfriends to have guns after they threatened the life of a woman.

When it comes to women, you would think this would be the one place mia_POS_tfnKKK would have a spine... she appears to identify as one. But she can't even say violence against women (from shooting, to raping to lying about women) is wrong. That is probably why she can't offer any compassion for the death Kaylin Gillis.

Thanks for the Liz Cheney quote. Hadn’t seen that one. Russell Berman at The Atlantic has a good piece up about Elise Stefanik, whose name I can both spell and pronounce. *Pats self on back*

You’d think Harvard would supply a good education in the classics and Stefanik would be familiar with the fate of Icarus. But alas... I really think her name will be remembered with the same regard as Joe McCarthy’s. For some, I suppose, it’s enough to be remembered. I firmly believe Trump would be happy to be remembered as being worse than Hitler, Caligula or whomever as long as he’s remembered. And I’m not saying he is worse.

I’ve been saying I believe the Orange Loser (who seems to be rotting lately) won’t pick Elise for veep because he can’t pronounce her last name. We’ll see. If she gets it though she’ll undoubtedly have to go through a more embarrassing pantomime than Tim Scott did in his play to be Vice Dictator.

Maybe she can take hubby’s last name. Trump might be able to pronounce that. Or she can just go with whatever pronunciation comes out of his addled head. Elise Reek has a nice ring for all the Game of Thrones fans. It’s going to be Veep Reek no matter who it is anyway.

Kevin, I thought you didn’t watch TV. Here’s one from the Game of Thrones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gw_Ej0HkPCs&t=12s Ramsay Bolton – Death reminds me of the idiom, Bite the Hand That Feeds

As long as those in power feed the ego of Donald Trump they will be safe, but if they fail to do so, then metaphorically Ramsay end will also be their own.

That was a great clip. I didn’t see the last season of GoT. Watched the first however many on DVD from the Crandall. Love the metaphor. Even better would be if the MAGA base turned on Trump that way and “removed all memory of him.”

I watch Colbert and Meyers monologues on YouTube and listen to “Nicolle Wallace,” Chris Hayes and Lawrence O’Donnell along with some Bulwark, etc.

Podcasts are great because I can be walking or doing dishes or whatever and listen. Also, if you bump the speed up to 1.5 an hour becomes 40 minutes. Do that on YouTube with some stuff, too.

Donald Trump is a jury adjudged, self-proclaimed sexual predator. Affidavits verified by legal counsel in accordance with their professional responsiblilities have alleged that he brutally raped a thirteen year old girl procured for him by his friend the sexual trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein.

That he is supported by the politically corrupt Elise Stefanik, who gives aid and comfort to enemies of our Constitution, should hardly surprise anyone. But, that Stefanik, herself, is supported and promoted by prominent citizens, newspaper publishers, businessmen and politicians should serious dismay and trouble the residents of the Northcountry. We are better, much better than that.
