Great, wonderful, fantastic piece this a.m.. I’m going to urge the Post Star to ask you to be a contributing columnist. It’s just soooo good. Everybody should see it.
I’m guessing Stec’s solution to drive-by shootings is not to embrace the SAFE Act. We can take solace that he hasn’t released a Thomas Massie-style Christmas card anyway.
I haven’t gotten the mailer, but you’d think Republican politicians would be a little more pro-active on touting vaccines since it’s their voters not getting them.
<b>In October, the reddest tenth of the country saw death rates that were six times higher than the bluest tenth, according to Charles Gaba, an independent health care analyst who's been tracking partisanship trends during the pandemic and helped to review NPR's methodology. Those numbers have dropped slightly in recent weeks, Gaba says: "It's back down to around 5.5 times higher."</b>* NPR

<b>Prosecutors in the recent Michigan school shooting by a 15-year-old student also have filed manslaughter charges against the shooter’s parents, whose gun he used. This should become standard practice for school shooting cases when the young shooters are armed only because of their parents’ carelessness.</b> St. Louis Post-Dispatch via Times Union
Sounds like a good trend to me. There should be a lot more prosecution for people who irresponsibly secure their weapons. I wonder if Dan Stec would agree. Doubtless, not. It might slow all those drive-by shootings, tho.
It reminded me of the St. Andrews case where the parents provided the beer for a teen party up in Putnam and led to two teenage girls dying in a car driven by the son. I don’t think they ever served any time in jail, but it sent a message that parents had to take some responsibility.
You should not twist words. There was no “fault” found with the recognition, the fault was found with the Assemblyman using the veterans for his own political purposes. That was made very clear.
Actually, I believe these are addressed to constituents because neither of us belong to a political party.
Thank you so much. Spread the word.

The photo on Assemblyman’s mailer were 3 Town of Moriah WW11 Veterans that was taken on Memorial Day.
Veteran John Sweet recently passed away, he is the Veteran sitting.
How anyone could find fault with this recognition of 3 veterans is beyond me!!
I realize that this was a political shot at our Assemblyman, using the Veterans to try and make a point.
Doesn’t surprise me.

Wasn’t clear to me at all.
The only politician, in fact maybe the only human, I’ve ever heard find “fault” with veterans is a certain sore loser.
Not nearly enough of them: that is, drive by the vaccine clinic and get a shot.
They have nothing to run on
Stec a little nuts lately? Sounding like Stefanik!
