To leave hanging allegations that "Strough’s behavior "seemed “very misogynistic.” " is repugnant and possibly even slanderous. What happened to basic fairness? Poor form to say the least.

It is important to point out that the Warren County Democratic Committee did not make this public so it was not the Committee that did any damage to Supervisor Strough’s reputation. Neither County Chair Boucher nor myself as town chair has received a letter, email, or phone call requesting a hearing. The committee has been waiting to hear from Supervisor Strough which is why the committee has not released any information about the details of its decision - to allow Supervisor Strough time to form his response. Apparently his response was to make this public so it is ludicrous to say that libel or slander exists.

Secret is still secret.

Secret like when Strough kept the DOS audit that condemned both David Decker and THE TOWN's lack of oversight from the other Town elected officials?? And years later over fines levied by the DOL ( which were ultimately "forgiven") and on and on. Those that know John the best ( which would include the local DEM Committee's) know him for what he is, not what you hope he would be. Add to misogynist, narcist, which gets to the root of his problem. John seldom if ever responds to anyone when his actions are questioned (because he is always right), and particularly those that have had enough prior contact to understand the condition they are dealing with. Do that a few times and you too would stop reaching out. The PS reporter was good enough to ask if John reached out and John had to admit that he had not. Pretty much confirms what I just laid out for you.

That is an odd take. Essentially this was a personnel matter and the committee will release a statement when we feel there is final resolution. If we released a statement before Strough had opportunity for a hearing we would be criticized for smearing him. But let me make one thing very clear, people who are reading onto the timeline of the county meeting and adding up that the complainants are women and the word misogyny was referred to are doing bad math. This was a matter of party business, party discipline. To my knowledge WC Dems have never rescinded an endorsement, so that should be an indication of the seriousness of the situation. Rather than scolding us over secrecy perhaps you should be considering that we may be taking action in the best interests of fairness, openness, and democratic principles. For a start perhaps you should take the time to read the Conservative Party platform and try to rectify some of that party’s planks with those of the Democratic Party and then consider that supervisor Strough has sought the Conservative Party line in most or all of his elections even when he runs unopposed. And do not forget that Supervisor Strough was arrested for his petitions on the Conservative Party line. Again, that is not why the executive committee took action, but it points you in a better direction.

I attended this meeting.

Calling John Strough a

Misogynist is totally over

the top. Unfair, without any

justification. Apparently the

new rules in Warren County

are if you disagree with

Ms. Braymer or Ms. Hogan,

you are now a Misogynist.

In addition, we will kick you

out of the Democratic Party.

Peter McDevitt is not a member of the Democratic Executive Committee, was not at the meeting in which the resolution in question was determined and does mot know why the Executive Committee reached its decision. So his comment here is ignorant of the facts. Just for clarity neither Supervisor Braymer or Hogan participated in that meeting either.

I’m guessing there is more to this than meets the eye. And I’m pleased the Dems aren’t eating their own in public. We have certainly had enough of that in recent years.
