It is interesting we don’t handle our gun problem, like the bar problem. Why not say to the NRA.. you have two years to stop mass shootings. You figure out how to stop it.
Those that are not the NRA, but feel the need to have more guns can also participate and find a solution.
During that two years, no more guns to be sold... and ammunition will be limited. Now the ban will be lifted if you solve the problem earlier, but of course if you don’t, then the ban is permanent.
Not sure why the people NOT shooting people have to solve the problem of the companies building killing machines and people shooting people.
*** Note I am not against guns, but if you have to have guns AND you believe collateral damage of innocent people (children), then your need is no longer a right ***

“TSA-Pre, paid the $85”
Innocent people should not have to pay, to ensure they are innocent.
For some reason, when I was in my 20’s I could not travel out of the US without receiving extra surveillance (this is pre-NSA). I had been called into private rooms. My car was searched numerous times. Once I had to give a small (badly performed) concert with my harmonica.. just so they knew it wasn’t a weapon or bomb (I guess). It got to the point when I went through customs.. I would just open my suitcase and start unpacking. I think i would have paid to stop it, but should one who is innocent, pay to be investigated (finger printed)?
The Downtown Business Association will probably oppose a 2 AM last call, it would probably reduce revenue. I am a veteran of the late night bar scene in Saratoga Springs. In the early 1980's, I probably could have been found at either The Executive Restaurant on Phila St, though it tended to close around 1 AM, or Tin & Lint on Caroline St, where the late Al McKenny would hold court in the small back room, which usually closed around 2. Lots of times Al and I would then go up to Broadway, where Our Place Pub was almost always open until Last Call at 4 AM. It's a wonder I survived....
Certainly Glens Falls had similar places. Dango’s on Maple Street was a big hangout for the hockey players and was the place people went after other bars closed. When I was in sports, we often did not get out of work until 1 a.m. so Dango’s was the choice for beer and some wings. It regularly stayed open until 4 a.m. and beyond.
Being less drunk reduces bar fights and the number of people driving intoxicated. That’s what Glens Falls found in the weeks and months after closing just an hour earlier. Fewer bars helped too.

NRA makes more money the more people are afraid, so they have no reason to want to stop the problem.
Yes, but imagine how many lives would be saved if the NRA was afraid and was part of the solution
Face it, though. The NRA is NOT about the protection of the rights of sportsmen. It is about protecting the revenues of the firearm industry.
that is why I don't believe asking them, just do it.
Pick a big liberal state(s) like CA or NYS and say if you want to operate here, you do this
Sadly, I have given up on that possibility.
Ken,
I think you meant to say "from 4am to 2am" in your article.
Yes, it was corrected, but only after email went out.
I was friends with Nikki Mareschi on Facebook, and all I can say is she and her husband moved to an apartment on Glen St., downtown. 😊
Thanks for the update.
You're welcome 🙂
Also, she is no longer on Facebook. Sorry, forgot to mention that.

If closing the bars earlier helps to diminish the violence, it’s a great idea!

Hahaha! Yes, those are the kind of tweets I will miss.
Wow! Anything that reduces drunk driving is awesome!
Anything that reduces DWIs fantastic!
