Sooooo vote to keep Santos, vote to elect criminals and at the same time vote to impeach someone that has nothing to distract from reality. They claim the liberal judges are too liberal until they rule against Trump and then they are unfairly what "conservative?" Astonishing how the rules change depending upon who is being held accountable ......or not.
Mind boggling how someone in public office, representing our district has turned off her integrity switch in order to retain power. Stefanik continues to support Trump with fervor, adopted his style of name calling and acceptance of rudeness, lies, and hypocrisy. It’s shameful.
Many stars emerged from the class of 1958 at Glens Falls High School, moving away and eventually earning acclaim. Edward (Chris) Prescott won academic honors, moved west and wound up actually winning a Nobel Prize in economics. Tony Gorry, long after academic/ athletic stardom at Yale, held an endowed professorship at Rice University. Tom Scull was a two sport star at Colgate before embarking on a business career. Other women and men from that class made their marks as deans or professors at Vassar, Williams and North Dakota, it was notable that Bud Taylor stayed “home” and made so many important contributions to our hometown for so many decades.
In their report, the Investigative Subcommittee stated: "As a Member of the House, however, he must be held accountable to the highest standards of conduct in order to safeguard the public’s faith in this institution. The Constitution charges the House with policing the behavior of its own Members, and the House should take whatever action it deems appropriate in light of the ISC’s findings." Their findings were lengthy and damning. They can be found here: https://ethics.house.gov/committee-reports/matter-allegations-relating-representative-george-santos-0 Its clear that our elected representative has no interest in safeguarding the public's faith in the House (which is non-existant) or policing the behavior of it's own caucus members. The total lack of ethics, integrity, professionalism, legality, accountability, oversight and morality stated through this single vote sums up what our elected representative has been, remains, and always will be as long as she holds office.
The sheer weight of the evidence of rampant fraud committed by DeVolder, uncovered by the Investigative Sub Committee was laid out for every member of Congress to see. How anyone could vote to delay the removal of this criminal, particularly party leadership, is a clear and present danger to this nation. This morning's appearance of Speaker Johnson and our traitor on Fox and Friends talking about their being the party of law and order is Goebbels-esque.
Thank you for honoring Bud, as well as his beloved wife Pat Selleck Taylor, with your personal reflections, Ken. As individuals, as a young couple, and as elder marital partners they became consummate caretakers of our local community. They truly typified the Hometown, USA Spirit which hallmarked honorable citizenship throughout their lives, as treasured neighbors, business owners, committee members and other volunteer workers, often behind-the-scenes.
Belated gratitude to you and your family for allowing us to witness your Hawaiian sacred service for “Jo.” Though honoring a loved one’s last wishes to co-mingle with the sea has generally been a U.S. Navy tradition, you and your family created a unique and holy ceremony, and a lasting peaceful memory each time you revisit any seashore in the future.
Re: “ E-lies “…this weak-brained, wind-up GOP robot had every opportunity to model her privileged elected position after Betty Little, Kirsten Gillibrand (see her weekly website) and countless other NYS women of impeccable integrity who recognized and continue to respond to the very real needs of their constituents in a prompt and highly transparent and compassionate manner.
Instead, E-lies chose to align herself with the Old Mighty White Guard of Federalists while at Harvard, then the “Orange Jesus,” as a tRump GOP elected statesman recently has referred to him.
I believe Elise may have to answer to a Higher Power than her false god someday…and so may all the other not-yet-indicted co-conspirators of the January 6th Insurrection who continue to perpetuate crimes against our precious Democracy.
You see disagreement as hate. What do you call labeling your political opponents vermin as Donald Trump has done? You don’t mind that people who professed a desire to kill Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi and assaulted over 100 police are labeled hostages by Trump and Stefanik? What does that make real hostages like those held in Gaza?
One of her worst votes. Stefanik virtually spit on the constituents in his district and indeed on the rest of the citizens including hers. She should cover her mirrors in her home so she doesn't have look at herself after this. As I blame all of the electeds who still are living the lie about the Trump loss in 2020, I have just one major question. Did you have your fingers crossed when you took the oath. This appears to be part of her campaign to be Vice President. While some of us acknowledge that we could be wrong, she obviously is too weak to do that.
How do we get rid of her? She is o better than Santos. The Albany Mayo, Kathy Sheehan, is not running again, and I do think she has the "chops" to beat Stefanik....I just don't know if she's in the district. with the new maps...any thoughts???
“He had lost four years earlier by 121 votes. The number would be ingrained his his memory for the rest of his life. He had been ahead by 81 votes on election night, but the absentee ballots went the wrong way.”
I can’t read that without thinking he should’ve spent 4 years crying about it having been “stolen” from him.
I probably don’t have to go and look to see how Elise Stefanik voted on the censure of Adam Schiff for, I don’t know, something.
Should have Liz’s book in my mailbox tomorrow. I’m going to be disappointed if there’s not a Stefanik story or three in it.
One melty spring day 20-some years ago a white whale of a Cadillac drove through about 6” of mud and slush around the side of our shop (Chicken Coop Forge) in Queensbury. A few minutes later Bud Taylor and Ron Newell knocked at our door. They were here representing the Crandall Park Beautification Committee. They had tracked down the iron fence that had once surrounded the Broad Street school which we had bought from a local junk yard, their plan was to have it restored and installed to replace an aging treated wood fence. They asked if we could add a detail - the 5 point star which was the log mark of Henry Crandall. We suggested adding a small piece of flat bar across all the points for safety. We made a deal and there it is today, still looking pretty good. When we installed it Steve (I’m blanking on his last name at the moment) from GF public works regaled us with a story of having jumped that fence when he attended Broad Street school and getting his pants caught on the pointy iron pickets.
Bud Taylor, a Republican, Ron Newell, a Democrat, weren’t interested in party affiliation but in doing good, lasting work that benefitted the community.
It’s a striking contrast to what Elise Stefanik seems to be about.
….so typical of Bud Taylor. Bud was one of the nicest, most honest, brightest active republicans I knew when I was affiliated with the Republican Committee in Warren County. Something unheard of today, judging by the insanity displayed in Washington.
Seems to me you don’t need a formal trial to avoid the conviction precedence . Santos was judged by a committee ( read jury) of his peers. I don’t see the difference.
What a contrast between Taylor actually working to serve the community and St-k and the Party leadership doggedly vying for power without scruples. Thank you for that contrast.
Elise Stefanik is an embarrassment to every person in NY21. I enthusiastically voted for her when she first ran for office. Whatever it was that changed her we will probably never know. The lies, the misrepresentations, the way she projects, her absolute refusal to answer live, unscripted, questions from constituents & press is about as disrespectful to her district as it gets. Her penchant for taking credit for successfully passed bills that she voted against is almost laughable. Her quest for photo ops actually IS laughable. Elise Stefanik doesn’t represent NY21…..she represents herself.

Thanks for that additional information.

It’s really hard to believe Republicans in Congress have any faith in an afterlife. It seems to be all live for today and don’t worry about tomorrow.
Then why bring up Biden’s and Pelosi’s faith in the first place if you believe that.
“Both parties ability to legislate suck”
This both sidesism is wrong. I’m not wasting my time with it, tho. Why should I put more effort into it than you are?

Maybe you’re sincere, but I doubt it.

No, she is not in district. Could we lure Betty Little out of retirement to save us?
Elise began her fraudulent rise through traitordom claiming to live in Willsboro. I will gladly rent my spare room to Kathy.
For $1 a month.

Bud Taylor was a distant relative. I watched news of him from afar and was always proud of the blood connection. A true Glens Falls gem.

I think the MAGA Republicans are interested mainly in power.
