I will miss Bob Henke and Forrest Hartley’s columns.

I think that receiving the paper by mail would only contain local news that I might want. National , international and state news would be old news . I can get that from TV and NPR news programs. I feel cutting local columns will be a mistake , in my opinion.

Any time you cut local it is a mistake.

And that is pretty much their default these days.

Wow, Henke and Hartley gone. That will take a while to process.

There’s always substack if Bob Henke is interested in doing that.

I know Bob will continue to write. Writers got to write.

Frankly, I'm shocked that they cut freelancers given how heavily the PS has depended on them in the last few years for so much of the small portion of their content that is non-wire.

Since the format switch, four of the five e-editions have had exactly one local article. It's garbage. I'm seriously considering how long to keep my subscription. Not much longer if this keeps up.

If you risk losing me, a former journalist who values local journalism and has been a subscriber for over 30 years, I'm not sure how many paying customers are going to be left. I subscribe to five local/regional journalistic publications. Imagine the one I'm considering dropping is the one, that for decades, I considered my first priority.

I too will miss the local news. The National is pretty well covered by tv.

Dan Ladd's NY Outdoors publication may have room for Bob's writing....

Nice offer to Bob for The Front Page, Ken....

I am very disappointed to hear of Bob Henke’s firing which I assume Forrest Hartley’s column will be gone too. They were the highlights of the paper for me for a long time now. This will be the end of my subscription of the Post Star after many years.
