I agree the pardon’s reason is being misused and not as intended, although I agree Joe Biden did the correct thing as Hunter would not be in the position he’s in if he weren’t being hunted by magats to pain his father. Moreover rump pardoned hard core criminals and made a mockery of so much of our legal system in that and many other ways. He found every loophole and I hope in the future, congresses will tighten our rules of law without curtailing the common citizen’s liberties. I think rump misused the medal of freedom giving it to rush limbaugh, so that has tarnished as well.

On another note, I lost both parents in the last two years after having them for the last 71 and 72 years. I’m more fortunate than most having had them so long, but while caring for them in their 90’s, we became best friends. They are my heroes and I miss them day and night. Grieving isn’t for the weak, and having lost my first husband at the age of 28, it never gets easier with practice. I love your columns and look forward to your insights and sincerity. Thank you.

Glorious sunsets, warm breezes and a precious postcard are a perfect tribute to your life partner. Hawaii is a very special place; very much as special as she must have been.

I am glad that President Biden pardoned his son! This country has elected a convicted sex abuser, 31 time felon, and traitor to this country! Republicans now have NO SAY when it comes to Joe Biden! If they don't like it, MOVE TO RUSSIA!!

Beautiful tribute to your wife. Grieving certainly is a process, and not a fun one.

This probably isn’t a popular opinion, but I don’t fault President Biden for pardoning his son. Lord knows what t rump would do to him once he is in office, so the President is protecting his family. If all of t rump’s minions can justify all the crap he has done, they don’t have any reason to fault this pardon.

Poignant bittersweet and deeply loving Aloha to Gillian. I didnt know her but this conveys her beautiful and eternal spirit and is a sweet tribute at a time of loss.

Another loss s of our friend Enid Matrianni who died this week as we appreciate her legacy in our area, her work with the community garden, the Glens Falls tree inventory and her comprehensive organization on the women's march in 2017. Good bye Enid with respect and affection.

...I don't "sympathize" with President Biden's pardoning of his son: I applaud it. He should pardon everyone on trump's political "revenge and retribution" hit list...speaking of which list- what a dark and disturbing and self-serving, petty, pathetic, mean-spirited, juvenile, shallow, insipid, warped, and deplorable "vision," and impetus, for any incoming head of state: personal vendetta. / Concerning accusations that the president told a "lie" when he said that he would not pardon Hunter- just as probable, considering all of what has transpired since then, maybe he was compelled to reconsider, & changed his mind: how would we know?...

I also applaud that decision! Considering the "nominations" of outright - frankly - sleazebag predators and crooks - to trust to their "following the norms"? Good for him and for Hunter. Will it shut these doofuses up? Doubtful.
