She really is, David! The fact her lies are so blatantly obvious is the frustrating part. Here in H2O town, she has a pot stirring ex mayor who refuses to answer legit questions from informed listeners on his David Plante wannabe radio show.
If anyone asks him a question about her lies and piggybacking, he turns to belittling the caller, changes the subject, then allows following callers ( uninformed dolts), to tear apart the person’s credibility with insults, conspiracy crap, and nothing of substance. I wish Dave Mance would counter this guy with someone with integrity.
These guys, if only I would’ve recorded 4-5 of his regular callers’ “ predictions” and the maga propaganda they fell for, it would’ve been one heck of a good laugh how “unwell” none of it aged.
But hey, the guy’s got a Spiro Agnew blow up doll in his bar, sooooo…..
…back to work. I love what you’re doing Mr Tingley, keep it up please!!!!

Why is there no editorial board at the Post Star?
======
There is a reporter at the Adirondack Daily Enterprise - Aaron Cerbone.. who will take the time and research the lies of stefanik in his articles.. he has been really impressive in his writing because it appears to be writing at least three stories a day.. with pretty good accuracy.
Question about editorials.. I know all media has a lean one way or another, even if it is unconscious... but when an editorial is discussed.. does anyone in the room think about the facts that the paper has published?
in 2020 the Watertown Daily Times endorsed stefanik... not a surprise since they lean right.. and some of the reporting they do has a clear bias that way. But in 2020, North Country papers started sharing reporter's stories and WDT had several of Mr. Cerbone's articles that proved the editorial endorsement points wrong.
I understand they are going to endorse her and probably again in 2022, but I would hope even in an opinion piece --- an editorial board would not ignore facts from their own publication..
I disagree about the “lean” to a degree. At The Post-Star, I think our editorials could left, right and moderate depending on the issue. We also had a rotating group of citizen representatives which meant the backgrounds and opinions of those on the editorial board kept changing. We tried to base our endorsement predominantly on the interviews with the candidates. As an example, the Post-Star endorse Matt Funiciello once, Tedra Cobb once and Elise Stefanik once during her three races. I’d like to think that shows the editorial board was open-minded.
I can't argue with you, since I didn't read enough... and honestly, I heard more about the 'left lean' from social media (I know not the gold standard of reliability) from the likes of alex degrasse.
But I think sometimes the lean is colored by perspective. If you think politicians should represent the people in their district and their needs --- then you lean left (but what an irony). If you think politicians should represent corporations you have to look at the Post Star as a commie rag.
I also think the Left/Right lean usually is so much more confusing when you mesh in local issues. From what I can see with local politics the lean is more often what is right, because you know your neighbor is going to let you know about it if you don't..
Which is a circle back to stefanik. She surrounds herself with a level of evil that is incomprehensible (degrasse, m-anderson, lenny alcivar, etc). Unlike a village mayor who lives in and is part of a community, stefanik is removed. Even if you were to concede she lives in Schuylerville (which I don't) she has an estate, her closest neighbor certainly has not had a conversation with her.
I always approached our editorials that we should be right. That often was at odds with what people thought was right, but hopefully that gave them pause to consider another point of view. The trouble with politicians representing the people is that the people often are not as informed as they should be. Consider Roy McDonald’s vote for same-sex marriage. It was at odds with at least half his constituents and it cost him his career. But did he do the right thing? Looking back, I hope most people would agree he did.
Every time one of Stefanik's constituents calls her DC or Glens Falls office to ask her position on an issue or lobbies her vote on a House bill (the aids who answer the phone never know her position on any issue), it is counted as a meeting. The letter you receive a week later saying she is "happy to serve you", is considered outreach. Over the years I have collected scores of letters but no answers. I have friends who've collected stacks of worthless replies.
It is quite disheartening how low Stefanik has sunk. She and her staff are always nasty when speaking about an opponent. Stefanik did not live in this district when she first ran. She used her parents camp address in Wilsboro. It is her constant lies that upset me. It is time to replace Stefanik.
Personally, it isn't just the constant lies, it is the easily disproved constant lies, that are often repeated.
Add to this, when her lies are proven to be there... I wonder who is this for and it is clear her cadre of supporters believe the lies (at best) or know she is lying and don't care (the worst)
I remember meeting Elise the first time she ran for Congress. Very young and ambitious and fearless to take on any challenge. No question you are tilting the scale one direction and that is your prerogative. In my work at the Board of Supervisors I prefer the old-fashioned way of working with people no matter what side of the aisle they are on, most often that still works. However, todays political climate can lack civility. Both sides try to out do each other on the race to the bottom. I believe that will run its' course as the electorate is always smart enough to see through these things when they have had enough. I've been on different sub groups of our last four representatives in Congress. So yes, that includes two Repbulicans and two Democrats. In my mind all four had great ideas and aspirations, but all three ahead of Elise left because of the political climate. Would there possibly be a better candidate for Governor right now than Chris Gibson? Did you ever meet a more stand up fellow then Congrssman Bill Owens, born in Brooklyn and grew up in Nassau County, but was a great Representative of the North Country. Elise came of age in this world of nasty politics where the people she represents are on Facebook and enjoy the deceitful honing skill shows like Big Brother. It is now acceptable in everyday life. Doesn't make it right. It takes a person with tenacity, talent, experience, and the skin of an alligator to weather that enviroment. She checks all the boxes and works for her constituancy whether you like her or not. Her winning margin increases every time she runs, because she gets results. Just consider this for a moment. Has this region of New York ever had a better opportunity in your lifetime? This is a better time than the great years of the late Honorable Gerald Solomon. Being an editor you know this. We will probably never see another time in our lives when our local representatives are the number one Democrat- Senate Majority Leader- Chuck Schumer, and the number three Republican- Congresswoman Elise Stefanik. Folks, for our region it doesn't get any better than this. Our region can't lose unless we fall for some propaganda that somebody posts on the internet that takes on a life of its own. We can't be blind in thinking these people don't have egos and personal ambitions, they don't get to these positions without that. In these times, I truly believe Elise Stefanik will maneuver through this political enviroment and her constituents will be that much better off because of it. Think about it as riding in an airplane with a seasoned pilot, you are far better off than the newby that just read the book. The pilot will do everything to have a safe landing because his life depends on it too! Politicians that are good understand that and won't let you down either. Their political life depends on it. All is good when we come out the other side of this enviroment we are in. We came close to avoiding this path a few elections ago, how I would have liked to seen a John McCain- Joe Lieberman ticket, just imagine that for a moment. Thanks for taking the time for reading. A lot of hard working good people in the political world get a bad rap for the enviroment we are in. If we aren't part of the solution, than we are the problem.
Brian, thanks for your well thought out response to my commentary. It is an example of two people looking at the same scene and seeing different things. But having respectful debate should be what it is all about. It is what it used to be about. You make some very good points and bring a perspective as an elected official. But I also disagree with some of your conclusions. Hope you don’t mind, but I will address that in more detail in my column on Friday. Thanks again for being part of the discussion.
• I am so glad the democrats, green party and various independents, never hire a teen from a different district to spy on the children of #ny21, then lie about it, then lie about the lie, then lie again, and to this day, doesn't address the fact she hired a teen to do dirty deeds. On this high road, I am glad you would never condone spying on children for political gain.
• in the last congressional race against I am so proud of the democrat and green party candidates for taking the high rand when they took the No Lie Pledge
• I am glad the democrat challenger in 2022 is willing to talk to the local media and more importantly circulate through the district and meets with his future constituents... isn't that a great thing
• I am so glad the democrat does not take credit for all the bills the #ny21 republican turned into law... as a way to say he has results. But then I am glad he does point out how democrats have passed many bills that make life for the residents of your district and my district better places.
• Please join me on the 'high road' and acknowledge that Matt Castelli is the High Road Candidate we should pull together with and elect.

Yes, I meant “small” stuff.
You would have to ask the folks at The Post-Star that question.
You are right about Aaron Cerbone. He has been a diligent reporter on many occasion, but one reporter can’t do it all by himself.

You should post a photo of all the letters.
Yes, please. And, please let the top letter at least be close enough to show the letterhead and date.

I suspect that many of her followers are hearing similar lies being repeated in the media, specifically Fox News.
On the good news front, Pat Ryan beat Marc Molinaro and Carl Paladino lost albeit to a more polite Trumpublican.
Well said! Stefanik continues to perpetuate the lie! Treasonous!
spot on commentary-hope castelli can get permission to use this in his campaign
Ken, thanks so much for compiling all of these sources and facts about what Stefanik "really" does or should I say really doesn't do.
Gillian is a cancer trooper and you are a fact trooper. Both of you are impressive role models for the community.
