Anyone paying any attention at all would realize that surviving another 4 years of Cuomo is a moot point in all likelihood. Merging with Vermont or Canada is about the only way he’d get my vote now. I voted Teachout and Hawkins. Regretted the latter because an unnamed Green candidate left a very bad taste in my mouth. I’m hoping for a woman, at the risk of putting a gender test on it.
As a Dem and Washington County resident I don’t have any say in who Warren County backs, but I’d have gone with Astorino. Zeldin is simply a lower profile Stefanik. Are Warren County Republicans courting Trump’s approval too? At least they’re not backing Rudy’s kid.
I’m looking forward to this primary. I hope Andy G gets the funding to stay in and kick up the crazy. The one I’m really looking forward to is for NC Senator with McCrory the former governor against Budd (Trump-backed) and Walker (thinks he should’ve been). But really, there’s gonna be MAGA candidates all around the country all wanting to be the next Marge Greene.
I may have mentioned this book here before and if so, apologies. “How to Prepare for Climate Change” by David Pogue. It’s a fairly extensive reference manual.
He says you don’t want to think about living south of Cleveland. Buffalo (yes) and Burlington VT are two metro areas he says to consider. The Northeast in general is really a sweet spot. Suits me, I’d never consider living in the south anyway.
I checked and it is available at the Crandall, though out. Probably being read by someone I’ve suggested it to 😊
Excellent point Ken. And I also have to say that I can remember my father and uncle talking about how high the taxes are, and THAT was in the late 50's when I was a little kid! We are a high tax state. We always HAVE BEEN, and we probably always WILL BE. So many of these politicians try to pass it off as something new. It's been like that probably since before many of them were even born.
I have met very few people who think their taxes are not high enough. It is an age-old political argument. But compared with Long Island or Connecticut, I think our taxes are not that bad. But if you want to move to the south, you will find a better deal there. But you do have to live in the south.
Yes, words matter, but many resort to hyperbole to make whatever point they are trying to make. It's easier than having a reasoned discussion and gets more attention.

I have also read articles that the northeast is in a sweet spot and should remain so in the future. It actually rains here pretty regularly.

That’s the unfortunate reality.
