Climate change has been solved apparently by Lee Zeldin, and the rest of the republican party. Ignoring it isn't enough, we need to claw back some of the progress made by the Biden administration and get back to coal and oil, because it's what we do. Everything that Republican Party now stands for is to un-do and destroy our social order, our trust in elite and established institution, anything that our government says or does, and each other. It's almost as though it was being orchestrated by the KGB,...oh, wait.
Agreed. If one were to sabotage a country one would do exactly what the Trump administration is currently doing to our country and it doesn't cost Russia or China a dime.
Thanks Gov. Bringing issues to local residents is the responsibility of local leaders. Stepping in when the local elected leader ignores her constituents is a strong response and should be recognized. Thanks again.
Sad to see such a lack of empathy for those who are vulnerable and subject to the loss of health care and food assistance. All so the well-off and wealthy can have more money.
I applaud the Governor for finally fighting back against the most vicious, vile member of congress in my lifetime. However, these same folks who are so concerned are the same ones who heaped praise on Stefanik for funding she voted against or had nothing to do with and in the end, like so many other useful idiots, they will still support the MAGA party. Gerry Douglas has been a cowardly Stefanik subservient for years and is complicit in supporting her agenda of lies and misinformation. Yes I am deeply concerned for our region but have no sympathy for the crybabies who kneel at the feet of Stefanik, Stec, Simpson and McNulty.
I couldn't agree with you more about Douglas. Douglas has sang the praises of Stefanik for years and most recently during Stefanik's "farewell tour" when she was hoping to become US Ambassador to the UN.
I'm not a Hochul fan but agree with everything opponents say about StefaniQ -- even the unprintable. She even claimed to be the deciding House vote for passage of the horrendous tRump budget (it may be big but it's the polar opposite of beautiful), ignoring the many other MAGAts who shamefully voted for it. Unfortunately, my experience shows that citizen MAGAts eagerly cut off their noses to spite their faces in service to their dictator. As for Douglas, I don't know him, but I can attest, as a former employee of a 1,000+ member chamber of commerce and who had dealings with other chambers' hierarchy, that the CEOs sway with the political wind just to keep their six-figure salaries and excessive benefits, including health care. So, it wouldn't be a surprise if Douglas and other chamber bosses in the 21st Congressional District suck up to StefaniQ, regardless of the damage coming if the bill is signed into law. I'd actually bet good money that Douglas privately contacted her highness to ask forgiveness for appearing with Hochul, vow to -- when the time is right -- publicly endorse her for governor and even cajole his business members to donate and campaign for her. They can always find a surgeon to reattach their noses.
Stefanik has broadly painted Democrats and those not subscribing to MAGA ideology or to Trump as being "pro-Hamas", "anti-business", or not being "America first".
If Stefanik does run for governor, Hochul must bring to all New Yorkers' attention the way Stefanik has treated her own constituents and exposing with the hard facts the litany of lies Stefanik has spouted over the years.
Hochul and the DNC need to take off the gloves and campaign against Stefanik and the whole of the Republican Party in New York, regardless if Stefanik is running for governor or for another term in Congress.
But the fact you bring up the DNC, Now I am worried.. more and more I am finding them the problem, not the solution
I have seen many things about the DNC and their 'advice' to the democrats who have run against pos_tfnKKK.. every bit of advice they have given was worthless... and since all those candidates lost...you can see what ever their advice was... it wasn't worth it.
(and it isn't for free, if you want funding support you have to listen to the DNC)
Most people missed the StefaniQ revenge tour after her drubbing for the second time by tRump for U.N. ambassador. She demanded the resignations of most or all of the 13 county GOP chairpersons in the 21st Congressional District who dared to conduct interviews with potential candidates as her replacement in a special election. The interviews allowed voters to be introduced to and consider the stellar records of MAGAts such as Stec, Constantino (the "character" who brought Roger Stone to his ultimate fighting contest in Glens Falls), Joy (whose claim to fame, besides already losing two elections, is chartering buses to take locals to the infamous Jan. 6 rally), Teague (representing the state Assembly district that has more cows than residents) and a couple other contrarians. Naturally, StefaniQ conducted her tsunami in private but was ratted out to the media by sources who didn't want to lose their lofty positions.
I heard Elise on Public Radio today talking about her possible run for governor. The tone in her voice was totally acidic, mean and nasty, and her comments about our current governor were despicable. I can't imagine anyone supporting Elise for any position.
It is nothing new, people like pos_tfnKKK a republican who talks a lie.. She says she cares about The people that the Big Beautiful BullManure will hurt.
She is a domestic abuser... and her supporters the abused.. Sadly those of us who know she is a liar... wake up every day with the bruises and the pain.. not just because of the abuse from pos_tfnKKK... but because the gQpeds are enabling this.
The BB Bull will hurt.
In ways that the federal government is best at, by making cuts that re really. We will all suffer at a federal level as we shift funds to the rich and away from the poor. But we will suffer at a state level as funding for states, likely blue states, is cut.
Remember Blue states fund red states (https://time.com/7222411/blue-states-are-bailing-out-red-states/). Blue states pay more in taxes then we get back. And if red states used that money to help poor, it might be understandable, it might seem the moral thing to do. They do not, often they use the funding for executives in ‘economic development’. Which means they try to recruit jobs from blue states, so these companies can move there and have a work force that has a minimum wage rate of $7.50
The states that pay the more - the blue states - are also the biggest revenue generators
I have been calling stefanik ‘pos_tfnKKK’ (lyin’ pos_tfnKKK) for years now.. and like a verizon commercial.. I wonder
Remember this dichotomy works much the same within states.. even blue states.
NY21 (pos_tfnKKK's district) is rural and the poorest in the state.... You would think pos_tfnkkk would be working to create jobs.. or at least to get more funding for the poor people in her district
Nope
Big Beautifull Bullmanure will do just the opposite.
And while gQpedos will deny this if the poor in pos_tfnKKK's district are to survive, it will be at the whims of the big cities (who are losing their jobs to those red states that have low wages and income.
Many of my neighbors are dependent on the rich fatties in Brooklyn to send us government welfar.
I googled poorest district and of course your 15th came up, but I did more research and numbers are misleading
One thing you know as well as I do, pos_tfnKKK has been representing ny21 for 10+ years and the district has gone DOWNHILL not sure if all of that can be blamed on her, there are other republicans that caused the problem
In that time the district has lost a lot of residents, Most of the residents lost were because they were educated..
nothing
f-ing N O T H I N G
pos_tfnKKK has done has helped the district
the biggest job boom to the area was either the Federal Build Back Better bill (that pos_tfnKKK voted against (and took credit for) and numerous state programs (some how pos_tfnKKK took credit for those too)
Maybe others are worse... but your snippy fly by night research did nothing to really defend how bad pos_tfnKKK is
I am not going to say you are lazy and don't know what you are talking about, your post did all that work for me.. And I don't know if you read the article that gave reason why it was poorest...
I will just assume you didn't, because you have to be embarrassed and apologetic for not using facts. That article does NOT cite it's sources. There were no sources
The article I did find making the same claimed the School Districts. was the poorest.. . not the district as a whole not district 15
Excellent article!! I wish our local media stations would feature this entire article. Unless I read the Front Page articles, I hear nothing in Saratoga county which is part of District 21.
Leaving the politics aside (for now), Gov. Hochul is spot on with her assessment of the impacts expected with the budget bill currently being debated. My area of expertise is on senior care - where over 70% of nursing home residents rely on Medicaid for their care. Make no mistake - this spending bill will be damaging and a vote in favor of it will be a vote against the most vulnerable.
But that can't be the only point of discussion. NYS, and Governor Hochul, have misdirected, misaligned and manipulated the Medicaid system for years. They have underinvested in core (required) services while expanding the scale and scope of the program far beyond its intended boundaries resulting in the unsustainable giant it is today. Nursing homes have taken the brunt of this - especially upstate not-for-profits. The difference between the cost of care and reimbursement is WORST IN THE NATION...that's Last Place! And that is on the leadership of NY...not Washington.
The hand wringing in Albany about how NYS will fill the inevitable gap in Federal funding is valid and I am very concerned about the impact. But what got us to this point in the first place sits squarely with the Governor and legislators who spread Medicaid around to a substantial percentage of the state's population, expecting nursing homes, hospitals and primary care to pay for it.
When healthcare and politics collide...politics always wins.
Climate change droughts in Central America leave farmers there three choices: work for the cartels, move here, or watch their children starve. Waiting at our Southern border for the paperwork to enter legally can take weeks or months; not easy for poor folks with hungry kids, worried the cartel may catch up with them.
SCOTUS now makes kids born here with Hispanic names, prove at least one parent on their birth certificate was a US citizen, or else. Lose-lose.
The 383 bodies just found stacked like firewood in an abandoned building in Mexico, can be added to the 124 office holders & candidates already known to be murdered in the last 2 national Mexican elections. Mexicans coming here are civil war refugees. As I said before, our US lust for drugs & overproduction of firearms make the cartels the 3rd best-equipped infantry in the Western Hemisphere, after our own Army & Marines. Trump's lies about Southern border immigrants have turned them into bogy-men for his base, a 3rd of voters.
There’s so much Republican horse trading going on in the Senate right now that Senators have to shuffle through a foot of horse manure every time they cast their preliminary ‘Vote-a-rama’ votes. The stench must be overwhelming.
The Senate version of the bill has just passed since your comments. It now goes back to the House to consider, where reports are circulating that several House members don't like the Senate version. In support of your "vote-a-rama" cliche, I notice Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska folded like a cheap tent and voted for the bill AFTER the MAGAt Senate leaders threw in some swag that would benefit just her state. Ditto for Collins in Maine. Shocking!!! Not.
It was Collins’ turn to get a pass and be allowed to vote against it. She’s up for re-election in 2026 and Murkowski is not. The cynicism is off the charts.
It’s long past time for the north country folks to start voting for people, not just strictly along the republican line. This woman has become dangerous to her constituents.
She refuses to talk with her constituents by arranging only “scripted” events. (Assigning pre-written questions to be asked by friendly audience members) Her telephone town-halls are a joke. Same assigning of questions, but you could actually hear her shuffling through papers to find her response.
Stefanik has become well known for taking credit for legislation she voted against. Only a few examples below…..
Stefanik lacks integrity, is dishonest, interested only in whatever & whoever can make her seem powerful. She is a drive by photo-op queen. She represents only herself.
We shoot ourselves in the foot when we vote time after time strictly along party lines…. For ANY party. We must vote for people who are honest with integrity and are truly interested in working toward what’s right for those they represent.
Imagine StefaniQ's son growing up in her evil, hateful household and hanging out with elected and citizen MAGAts as he grows. Someone should contact child services.
Actually Maga Republicans and Trump and Zeldin are all "disputing" climate change, still seeing it as a fanatic left wing hoax despite all evidence all around them. In some places, newspapers, radio reports, politicians are silenced when giving facts and figures and analysis, scientific research on environmental effects and on loss of species has been stopped, Biden's green energy programs have been stopped in their tracks, public land is available to the highest bidders, Trump speaks about the return of coal, NOAA (which provides accurate weather information) has been drastically refunded, as has FEMA which provides aid after climate disasters. This administration...and the bill now before Congress... will continue the assault on the earth and for "progress" with fossil fuels energies.
Unfortunately Stefanik and her wealthy bosses are ignoring all our appeals. Appealing to her sense of family values fails. Appealing to her obligation to her less fortunate constituents fails. Appealing to her concern for the middle-class losing Medicaid benefits for damaged or defective family members and friends is ignored. The Republican refrain is that there is theft. Really? Team Trump, of which Stefanik is a charter member, are on the take. Trump makes money on the $TRUMP memecoin. Since January 2025, the Financial Times analysis found that the crypto project netted at least $350 million through sales of tokens and fees. Chain analysis data indicates that the creators of the $TRUMP coin have made over $320 million in fees. She openly loves this guy. Why? He's already taken away the sweet UN job from her.
Talk about grift! A religious person should think long and hard before buying a Trump bible, especially if they believe in judgement day. He's definitely, she's definitely, not doing the work of "Jesus." The Trump version of the Bible notably omits amendments 11–27 of the U.S. Constitution. It's also printed in China.
Asking for commonsense answers such as "where is all the tariff money going?" goes unanswered. I asked "when did your Glens Falls office close?" and never received an answer. The economy is contracting, retail is crashing, and all she does is take credit for Biden's work, or micro-projects that sound good to tiny communities like Whitehall. In the meantime, elderly patriots are starving on $12,000 a year SSI (if that!) and SNAP is going under. The housing market is now crashing around the country. Congress does nothing but demand more tax cuts for the wealthy, and will throw a small bone to those making 30 to 120K or so. Nothing for the bottom, and 98% of the tax break goes to the top. It's so bad that even Elon hates it, and that's a leap.
I just got back from Norway, I talked to a few people up there. They think that over 50% of us voted for Trump. When I tell him it was like 31%, they are shocked, they don't understand why so many people don't vote. They see what is going on. They've had war in their towns. Maybe that's why the US is so complacent. Now just 28% of the people voted in the latest mayoral primary? This is scary.
Voter turnout is abysmal and has been. Low information voters with lack of civic connection should carry some shame BUT NYS election law shares some of the blame. Mail-in voting, open primaries & ranked choice all improve participation.
I was surprised by the GF mayoral result. A landslide against an incumbent rarely comes without some kind of major scandal or vocal uprising against the incumbent. I never sensed that about Collins. I think Palmer is great but never thought she'd win a landslide.
Climate change has been solved apparently by Lee Zeldin, and the rest of the republican party. Ignoring it isn't enough, we need to claw back some of the progress made by the Biden administration and get back to coal and oil, because it's what we do. nothing like being too hot and burning a candle at both end.

The following link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York%27s_15th_congressional_district , claims that New York's 15th congressional district is the poorest congressional district in the United States
Only one can be the poorest so which one is it?

FAFO...
NY21 voted 60% for Trump and 62% for Stefanik.
I was surprised by the GF mayoral result. A landslide against an incumbent rarely comes without some kind of major scandal or vocal uprising against the incumbent. I never sensed that about Collins. I think Palmer is great but never thought she'd win a landslide.
I believe Collins was unopposed in first election so perhaps untested.
