While a wedding is typically a celebration for friends and family (there are exceptions), it's the first date that carries more significance. Not only do my wife and I remember the date of our first date, we remember what we did in some detail. And we also just celebrated that 50th anniversary of our first date.
Paula Collins and Kamala Harris won the educated vote. They won people who understood the issues, by stating policy and facts...
pos_tfnKKK and hmpy trmPEDO won the ignorance of America, those who think education and learning is a problem
People who were born in the 40's to the 60's will know.. education was not a 'white collar' endeavor.
Regardless of your ‘class’ you read the newspaper and when there was nightly news on the television, you watch that. It wasn’t only Aerospace Engineer who read the newspaper, the plumber did as well. Parents of those born in that time period stressed education in two ways: expecting their children to go to school, but also going further in school then they did AND by example.
By example: my dad a construction worker and my mom a high school drop out, both read the newspaper. The newspaper was always there. And when the door to do encyclopedia guy came, we then had a set in our house. My mother read to us and provided us with books.
You had to be physically sick to not go to school. People back then had mental problems.. from phobias to chemical imbalances.. Not sure if this is right, you still went to school. Lots of students dropped out - - - > from my graduating class, as in 10%. Sadly that would be considered good, it wasn’t back then. Many who you would think would drop out.. the blue collar, did not, because there was vocational education.
The gQped politicians now lie about education.. all the time. They want to suggest it is bias, yet they grew up (like pos_tfnKKK) and went to those liberal bastions of education like Harvard and Yale, but some how still had the nerve to become conservatives and who now lie about their education.
Hint: they know something. If you are educated, you will know they are liars.. they want an ignorant voting public.
Smart work on both NCPR and GF school. Looks like an important piece of a community needs assessment that is likely very widespread. Talk about "infrastructure". Helping students, teachers, and families - worth $$ support TRI county area,NYS, USA..
I really shouldn’t have to prove anything. Just because you provide your links, doesn’t necessarily mean that the content is true. Please stop generalizing and grouping everyone into one category.
You really shouldn't say anything, unless you can prove it
On the other hand:
I DID PROVE IT
sorry giving you proof is offensive
I will admit I am wrong, IF you prove it.. but right now you are the one who is making the "couldn't be more inaccurate" assumptions and you are just as rude, if not more so than you 'think' I am!
Edward what your links prove is that several Republican leaders are calling for defunding NPR. They do not prove your option, that Republicans want ignorant voters
His links look pretty reputable to me. And it is no secret that many Conservatives and Republicans feel that public television and radio are liberally biased and undeserving of taxpayer dollars. As to whether they prefer an ignorant populace...well, if they spend a lot of their energy running down teachers, schools, colleges and universities, and last but not least the Department of Education, not to mention dismissing vast areas of scientific consensus as "hoaxes," can you blame someone for being of the opinion that they prefer an uneducated voter over an educated one?
She is probably right about generalizing... however.. those links are one of many I could provide with pos_tfnKKK wanting to defund NPR.
And the shouts for defunding never comes when public radio is critical of democrats, or other political platforms, ONLY when they (factually) report on republicans.
What C-Brown doesn't get.. or most republicans is NPR is not the only media that gets indirect funding from the public and/or the government.
I would add one more thing to c-brown.. you will notice (and this is a thing everyone does dems or others on the political spectrum.. she doesn't say she is FOR funding NPR.. pointing out my generalizing is wrong. It would have been easy. But she didn't. I would guess the check I wrote this month is more than she has donated to public broadcasting in her life.. but that is just a guess.
So dam steckdec does not want to respond to questions from his constituents. I am wondering how many people know the saying: “all politics are local”. It was a concept that basically said the potholes on Main Street (excuse the play on words) is what drove the public. If the Federal Government could help with that (you know like Build Back Better has done) they the voting public was happy.
That has changed.. People now vote because they think a homosexual in San Fransisco is going to destroy their morals (forget that gay man might be the brother of the small town mayor). Or they worry about immigrants pouring over the border (spoiler, just another gQpedos boogie man lie). And you know who fear the border the most.. the states without a border to a foreign country.
What is dam deckstec’s fear... jobs in his district, potholes on main street? Nope, he is afraid that hmpy trmPEDO didn’t get a fair trial and that the slap on the wrist hmpy got after being convicted of 94 felons was tooooo much.
In other words: deckstec fears hmpy trmPEDOphile more than he cares about ny21.
Absenteeism and lowering of achievement in schools is having repercussions in military recruitment, among so many other things. Fewer young men are meeting standards for enlistment, both educational and physical.
Young women are stepping in to fill the gap - perhaps in some measure due to Sen. Gillibrand fighting for women’s equality in the military system, something Rep. Stefanik has stood in opposition to.
In this time when so many young men are focused on being Alpha, this news is sure to cause some cognitive dissonance in that group of men who tend to populate groups like the Proud Boys, which can’t be good.
this is a phenomenon that I just can't wrap my head around, but for the vicious circle it creates
This trend is true in college more and more women.....
And instead of working harder.. staying in school, being smarter in school.. the 'bro community' just become more misogynist.
I remember mentoring a male student one time and I was trying to get him to do his homework (over building a star wars model).. since he was an adolescent I thought the lure sex might help: "If you go to college there are more women then men, your odds would be better."
"why would want a woman smarter than me?" was his response... I guarantee he voted for hmpy trmPEDO and likely listens to Joe Rogan.
__________
sidenote: there isn't a women's right issue that pos_tfnKKK has stood with women --- but for some lipservice.. she will say rape is bad in the military, but it is Gillibrand who is working to stop it. She also voted AGAINST the Violence Against Women Act... because? (and you can't make this misogyny up) she thought that it was wrong to take the boyfriend loophole out of the act... that violent boyfriends HAD THE RIGHT to have a gun they could kill their girlfriends with. (Yet, I am sure women voted for pos_tfnKKK)
10:00 on a recent Sunday night village of Whitehall announced an emergency water shutoff in 1.5 hours. I don’t know how most people would have found out and prepared.
Despite weeks lacking normal rain, and inexorable dropping of the Pine Lake reservoir it seems like there had been little or no warning to the public and this disaster came as a shock to residents. In the end it turns out to have been a disaster complicated by several factors.
I have seen people from Whitehall commenting on all the “woes” of the LA fire department, the politicians, the reservoirs and water system, the “woke” allowing rain water to flow in rivers to the sea (seriously), and all kinds of preposterous minutiae about a city 3,000 miles away. What those same people know about their own water supply? Not much.
I am not a person who ‘follows’ on social media and the local Saranac Lake radio station isn’t local anymore…
so I wonder where/how should someone find out about this.
I am sure they could ask me for my text number, but I wouldn’t… but could they do an alert though the cell companies.. what about those without a cell phone.

years ago my father in law, a retired FBI agent, worked for the warren county probation dept. One of his tasks was to go to the home of absentee kids and take them to school. He did not have to take the same child often,
Thanks, Ken, for this morning’s n local news coverage.
Kudos to the Glens Falls School District for attacking the issue of absenteeism head on, rather than sweeping it under the table. And to NPR for reporting on the issue.
As a firm believer in and supporter of public education—having been a grateful recipient, a parent, a former member of two local school boards, and married to an educator—I realize the importance of the students’ regular presence in the classroom, and the part parents play in making that happen.
Our schools can do little if they do not have the support of the home/parents. Making parents aware of the problem of absenteeism is an important first step.
and guess what the most important issue in the last three days to him? He thought the slap on the hand that hmpy trmPEDO got for his 94 felons was too much...
One more day before that.. 'trmPEDO will fix the border' I guess he wasn't alive in 2016-2020 when the border wasn't fixed then
And honestly the complaining might not be too bad, if he had one solution...
but like pos_tfnKKK it is about whining, not solutions.. they have no solutions
I was thinking about this.. I go to the libray on occasion and read the local paper..
ª they only print a calendar on some days and it isn't comprehensive
ª there is more national sports news, then actual local news
ª consequently there is little reason to read the paper, but for that one story a day
So why support a paper that barely supports the community they serve? They are the true definition of what 'trickle down' is.. people don't read it or subscribe, so why would a local business advertise... trickle trickle.. now they can't afford to have any local news.. trickle
I think the biggest thing to come is the local governments will soon stop putting legals in the paper and just publish them on their web pages.... trickle trickle
I have also tried to get press releases in that same paper for a fund raiser. They would not print...trickle trickle...

Occasional you see hmpy supporters post here.. but they post many other places... what do you think could convince 'simply put' that by voting for hmpy is against his better interests.
Or take the politics out of it. I was talking to a guy.. who I think probably voted for trmPEDO about the small town losing it's grocery story... he admitted:

º when he needed something now, like a bag of flour that Stewart's didn't sell he was out of luck
