I’m glad you kept the 8-track player and tapes. They are highly collectible and do have value but the best value is to you so I hope you enjoy them for years to come!

Installed a cassette player in my car myself in the 1980s. It’s amazing how we just automatically knew how to install and fix things back then with no YouTube videos.

Good for you! I have an old cassette player, it doesn't get much use, once in a while...An 8Track? Almost but not quite Little Houses On the Prarie quanit! Nice story!

Sometimes we need to revisit our youth to remind us of who we were and what we became😊 Glad you enjoyed those tunes!

Always hard to get rid of our stuff, at least the 8 track player is still working, I'm not good at it either, had a cellar full of stuff, just had someone come and take it away

even if everyone has a garage sale... and I am in the same position as you...

what would happen is we just keep trading junk... or trying to sell our treasures and buying someone else's junk.

The 8 track... Never had one, never figured them out. A friend had one and he wanted to play a certain song from his Roger Daltry album in his car and I had to listen to him fast forward track four, then click to track one then two, then fast forward...

past the song and start again

Think back a little harder Ken. What I remember about my 8-track player, was its hunger for my favorite tape. Usually about a week after the purchase. There is a reason they are not around anymore. I quickly made the switch to cassette. Much smaller and more importantly, machines that didn’t eat as much tape. I still have a couple of hundred, but nothing to play them in.
