...thanks for all / Greenland: again?! One would say, "Stop the insanity!" -but calling whatshisface & all of them insane relieves them of responsibility for their innumerable despicable, and vile, statements and actions; they know what they're doing, methodically attempting to dismantle democracy and decency / Put another way, they seem to be miserable people- trying to make everyone else [in the world] miserable [and worse]. / -May. they. all. fail. : miserably...
As a survivor myself your story about your wife hit home. I understand the part about pushing thru the cancer & treatments as an inconvenience. Better that than to be overwhelmed by the obvious potential serious consequences. It may have been brave but it was really about making the best choice daily, for everyone. And now you’re doing the same.
Thanks, Ken, for re-publishing the 2024 column. Just as moving the second time around, and just as inspirational. As I’ve written before, we all have stories to tell in a world full of people with stories to tell.
Thank you for all your writing...It is always good to read about love and the blessings of love with your wife and son and sports and travels...and....
Sen. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) on Friday floated Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) as a possible successor to outgoing Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard, saying the House Republican would likely have no trouble getting through the confirmation process.
“Stefanik would make a great replacement for Tulsi as DNI. Easily confirmable too,” Banks wrote in a post on the social platform X.
Gabbard announced her resignation, effective June 30, on Friday, citing her husband’s recent diagnosis of a rare form of bone cancer.
Though designated to honor our deceased military members who made the ultimate sacrifice, this w/e is also a reminder of hometown family gatherings with those who are no longer with us. In chatting with one of my SMA classmates over at St. Mary’s cemetery yesterday, it became a “Who’s Who” of where our family and friends’ plots are located, like pointing to old neighborhoods and reminiscing about our growing-up years. The annual rituals of planting geraniums and other flowers, and pausing to recall better memories of times shared, vs. the circumstances of each death, can be peaceful moments many years later.
Gillian’s courage and determination to go the distance with her ovarian cancer journey is a legacy to be honored every day. Her credibility as an RN-patient who was willing to try every option available to try to offset every migration of the cancer cells taught her doctors and nurses about the power of HOPE in creating new statistics about ovarian cancer survival… as well as documenting the myriad of side effects to be expected and endured right up to her last treatment protocol.
Thanking you for renewing our memories of this 2024 Front Page essay… and reminding us all of the value of our own family memories today and always.
