Ken, you're a great writer, but I dislike the use of the cliche "called out," and that's the bottom line.

Not sure the proxy voting really bothers me that much. When you say you’re not in DC because of the “health emergency” and then show up the following day to vote in person it’s a pretty obvious lie, tho.

Lie better. Another result of Trump is they don’t even bother to lie well. Just like him.

Exactly! There is nothing wrong with proxy voting if there is legitimate reason (pandemic) not to meet in person, but this is like school kids forging their parents signature that they didn’t have time to do their homework. If they can’t be trusted to behave like adults, then they shouldn’t be in Congress.

While her fundraising ability outside of the district is prolific she’s not good at raising money in NY21. I don’t know if that is her failure or if local Republicans only like her enough to vote for her but not give her money or what. In any case she may not be the best face to put on a fundraising event for charity.

There is probably not enough big money in the district for it to be worth her valuable time.

You forgot to mention that Elise voted against the use of proxies in 2020 when it was proposed. Furthermore she has used the proxy at least 14 times (assume some of them for when she gave birth).

I just think she’s terrible. She does not validate the last election even. The worst part for me is that she’s a woman. She insults her own sex.

There are some times that I just dream....in reality the voters of NY21 have it in their power to bring Stefanik's meteoric political career to a screeching halt by voting her out of office. Can you imagine the look on her face? Priceless! One wonders if she would say the election was stolen...If the voters want to have some fun (and these days who doesn't?)....give her the boot in November...it would be interesting to see what happens.

I don’t see the lie. My first impression of Elise Stefanik was negative and still is. The first time I watched her was in the 2014: New York’s 21st Congressional District Debate which was on channel 5 WPTZ. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaprhwdoy_w&t=33s

The first question was about Jobs, Clinton, Franklin, Jefferson and St, Lawrence counties all had unemployment rates above the national average. The person asking the question made it clear. The panel wanted them to give two key things they would do to grow jobs. Not why it was the Presidents fault, not why it was Congress’s fault. The panel wanted Aaron Woolf, Elise Stefanik and Matt Funiciello ideas on how to grow jobs.

Matt was up first, answered the question and gave his ideas. Elise went next. Blamed Obama’s economy and high health care cost for the lack of jobs, although she never gave any ideas on how to grow jobs just emotional political rhetoric.

Ken if your premise of a lie is based on “unable to physically attend proceedings in the House Chamber.” then there is no lie. She may be a manipulative politician, but she has no ability to be in two places at the same time.

No, the document she signed was not true. But you are correct that her track record is long on not telling the truth. Post-Star asked not to lie in 2018 campaign. She never responded.

Ken, she may have broken one of the Rules of the House of Representatives, but the information you supply in your article does not support the conclusion of the title, that Stefanik lied. Here’s the link find the rule. https://rules.house.gov/rules-and-resources

Her proxy statement says she could not vote in person because it is dangerous to go out in public. She then got on a plane and went to a fundraiser for 200 people. She lied!

No Ken that’s not what her proxy statement says. Your interpretation may be valid although it is not what her proxy statement says. It says is, she is “[I am] physically unable to attend proceedings in the House Chamber due to the ongoing public health emergency,” caused by COVID-19.”

Now if you and Bonnie believe you can derail Elise Stefanik’s political career with things that most people don’t care about think again. Stefanik is not like Tedra Cobb, with open mouth insert foot syndrome.

Stefanik is more like the old Commercial for Maxwell House Coffee; while a man finishes repairs on a wood-sided wagon outside a general store; young man complains that the car is old, but an old woman called Cora says, “when you find something that works, you stick with it!”

And Elisa found something that worked when she teamed up with then eighth-grader Melissa DeRosa, at Albany Academy for Girls So Elisa could fulfill her first campaign promise of a snack machine on school premises

She said it was due to the ongoing public health emergency and that is a lie. She went to Florida to raise money with donald trump. That's why she didn't attend to vote. We have a copy of the letter.

I’m from the Show Me State of Missouri, now that’s a lie. So. if you have a copy of the Letter show it.

Can you go on twitter? I don't know how to attach it to an email. Or are you on facebook?

It has been widely published. Stefanic does not dispute it.

I really like reading your writings. You probably saw where she lied about what Joe said yesterday. It was an out and out lie, just like the proxy lie. It seems to be quite common with her. Ethics are hard for her. Is she able to use the US House of representatives podium to slam the president. It's not appropriate and should not be allowed. It has the US seal and is not only for republicans. It gets attention and they display their drama, which is why they use it. I also wonder why NY #21 is paying her to represent us. We have no say and aren't asked anything. We haven't seen her in 3+ years. Completely her agenda. We are not represented for anything in congress. Just wondering.
