Why does the term streetwalker come to mind.

Lipstick on a pig.

If her fake eyelashes get any longer they'll cast a shadow on her face.

Sedition Stefanik has only self interest in mind. Miss a Harvard is not stupid, she knows that the diabolical sociopathic narcissist is a shallow being who puts more emphasis on appearance and has very little regard for the content of one’s character. In Elise’s case this won’t be an issue because there is no moral compass . 45 will no doubt considers this be an asset. . She is doing whatever is needed to expedite her goal but knows competing with the spelt blue eyed blondes types that Trump drools over is a monumental task. She probably thinks a makeover will at least give her a fighting chance for the VP prize. I would be very surprised if all these efforts will enable her to obtain the brass ring. The guy is too shallow to place her in the running. Putting lipstick on a pig doesn’t change a thing.

My daughter and SIL booked a room at Mirror Lake Inn, Lk Placid for the eclipse. We joined them to watch and for dinner. We had a good view of planes flying in and out for the eclipse.

A friend who’s a flight instructor booked a lesson for a young student who’s a science nut to fly into LP to view the eclipse. They made reservations at the airport weeks in advance but were bumped to Lake Clear where he said about 100 planes flew in for the show. My guess is that they were bumped to allow the billionaires and lesser hundred millionaires to fly into LP.

April is normally mud season in LP and much of the town shuts down. Someone noted that some accommodations didn’t open. I suspect that was because there aren’t enough workers, that the foreign workers are scheduled to arrive in May or June.

We had a good meal after the eclipse and we had seen the kitchen staff out watching the eclipse during totality. They enjoyed it. Many seemed like locals but they probably can’t afford to live in the $10 million homes that ring Mirror Lake, or the million dollar homes out in the woods.

In California fast-food workers just got a raise in minimum wage from $16 to $20 per hour. Conservatives around the country are going out of their minds that workers would get paid that much. Franchise owners are threatening big price increases and layoffs - as they always do when minimum wage increases. They threaten that the economy will shut down, but every single time minimum wage has gone up in the last few years the economy has remained robust and large corporations as a whole have made higher profits.

A couple of years ago Stewart’s in Long Lake was advertising jobs at $18 per hour to start, so $20 for a worker in San Francisco doesn’t seem out of the question to me. I find it unlikely that the extra $30 or $40/ hour in operating expenses is really that much of a hardship for a McDonalds or Chipotle in Santa Barbara. What does that amount to? An extra 12¢ per meal? Less? But collectively it might make the difference between buying a jet and flying to Lake Placid for the eclipse or not.

It was nearly impossible to pick a side in the DeSantis vs. Disney kerfuffle. If only there was a way for both to lose. It’s nice that the filmmaker is speaking out. She’s not giving up the inheritance tho, I guess.

I’m disappointed you didn’t include the pics of the “new, improved” Elise Stefanik. After watching Trump try to have Mike Pence hanged with qualms at all, I wish her all the luck getting the job. I love the pure arrogance of her thinking that she’s going to be the one who rides the tiger and lives to tell the tale. That Harvard education must come with a big dose of hubris.

An object lesson in how Trump sycophancy works out is what lickspittle Lindsey Graham is going through now for offering a little mild critique of Dear Leader’s abortion comments.

Something amiss. How can Abigail Disney recall the opening of Disney in 1955 when she is only 64 years old?

She is a bit too heavy for Trump. Plain and simple, he has a "type" for sure, and Elise ain't it. She looks way too wholesome for the viper to cast his gaze on. Even as she tries to look a bit more seductive...I can't believe I'm commenting on her looks, what have I become....

Ken, regarding your article titled "Commenting", I wish to provide some clarity.

In your article, you posted:

"Both Will Doolittle and myself try to set a tone for respect and debate when people comment on our writing. There are some that are always changing the subject or steering the conversation back to politics even if the commentary is not about politics. They always seem to be looking for an argument. That can be frustrating. One of those people commented on Glens Falls basketball legend Joe Girard III saying his Clemson teammates this year were the best he ever had. The commenter said Girard had insulted his high school teammates. I disagree."

I was the "one of those people". I had previously posted the following:

"Ken,

Regarding your article on Joe Girard III, I watched alot of his games this year. He was excellent on the perimeter with his passing, but he did not seem to always shoot with authority. However, the way he played the last few minutes against Alabama, he was closer to what everyone saw in HS. His comment to the media that his Clemson teammates were "The best teammates he ever had" was disappointing. His HS teammates, who bought into, and sacrificed for, Rob Girard's game plan to run everything through Joe, were probably a little blindsided."

So, I did NOT say that Joe insulted his HS teammates. I said that I felt Joe's comment was disappointing, and well you can re-read the rest.

You decided to take my posting out of context, and unfairly twisted my words. You decided to use this as your example in your article which highlighted the need for better listening and respectful commenting, which, believe me, is very true in this forum.

I'm not looking for or requesting an apology or retraction, just fairness from someone who continues to hold him out as a journalist. Thanks!!

A new haircut and make-up won’t change anything. Trump goes for beautiful and porn material. He wants to have a beautiful woman standing next to him hoping every man in America envies him. Stefanik isn’t that. I’m not trying to put an emphasis on looks, just draw attention to Trump’s shallowness.

Thanks for the perceptive Disney piece, and the insights into corporate greed In spite of the “the Wolf on Wall Street” creed that “greed is good,” It is not! It is evil! It is dehumanizing , and destructive, whether it be corporate or personal.

Experiencing the eclipse was awesome. I liked the comment of Dr. Nye “The Science Guy” when he was asked about the importance of the phenomenon. He said, in effect, it increases our understanding of the cosmos AND our place in it. The latter led me to a fresh reading of and reflection on Psalm 8.

I am not concerned about the looks of Elise as I am about how her brain is functioning. She may have a "new and improved look", but has she changed any of her horrendous tactics?
