I don't recall anyone ever approaching me with a bribe. And I don't ever recall saying that someone had. If anything it is just the opposite. And I don't know of anyone on the staff who was ever approached with a bribe - at least that I knew about. People asked for things to be kept out of the paper without luck as well.

The mere thought of Roger Stone appearing at our hometown arena makes me gag. Talk about someone who should be inside a Cage - instead of walking “free!”

Money talks and criminals walk…and it’s scary that our local Civ Ctr management team has caved to whatever $$$$ they’re getting to host this obvious quasi-Trump rally to build a bigger base for the new/old regime’s quest for more North Country MAGA robots.

Free admission is quite a gimmick…I imagine the Kool-aid will be free also.

Perhaps Mr. C. should receive the same questions as Stec and given a chance to respond. If he fluffs them off then Dan has a chance to land a punch, as it were.

Thank you for filing an ethics complaint against councilperson McNulty.

It is clearly an ethical lapse, except in Queensbury it is not a lapse, but rather the recent norm having had the past 2 GOP chairs serving on the town board.

We saw a glimpse of what can happen when Supervisor At Large Seeber resigned and Hilary Stec sought the position. 6 or 7 people applied to be appointed as replacement. I was one of them.

Stec addressed her letter of interest to the Republican committee rather than the town board.

Republican Donald Slack expressed interest in serving saying he had support on the GOP committee, but just 4 days later withdrew because of “health concerns.”

Then, when Stec mostly failed to show up for the job and resigned in some weeks the town board ignored the previous applicants and appointed Nathan Etu who was not one of those who wrote letters of interest.

The loyal MAGA Republicans of NY 21 are getting exactly what they deserve, a clown show. Stec has been part of a clown show for years as he and his crybaby colleagues spend more time on the capital steps whining about everything and accomplishing nothing. Local loyal Republicans only care about party power not their constituents or communities. Stec should be forced to resign from his Senate seat immediately.

Folks can get free tickets to the Cage Wars 69 at the link below.

Often people get these types of tix on-line and the event sells out, but then people fail to show up for whatever reason.

Hmm. Would be interesting if there were lots of empty seats because those who got tix didn't show.

Well, that would be unfortunate, wouldn’t it?

Oh, well, I guess that since it’s a free event nobody would lose any money. So that’s good.

I hope the Democrats nominate a formidable candidate that we can all get behind. We should help to write postcards, donate a little money, make calls and hopefully make enough noise to let these MAGA people know that there are more of us here on Earth One.

The fortunate thing is that the election won’t occur until several months into the aspiring conqueror of Greenland’s presidency. Maybe God will have removed the scales from enough people’s eyes by then.

I wonder if Stec or Constantino will be hiring Stefanik's "spokesperson" and ghostwriter Alex DeGrasse to continue spewing the vitriol, lies, and rhetoric that is/was Stefanik's trademark?

Stefanik's nomination hearing is scheduled for January 16th. Looks like it will approved easily, since some Democrats have posed smiling alongside her as she makes her rounds. Maybe I'll tune into CSPAN that day

the swamp gets deeper with Trump's unqualified and dangerous choices for his cabinet, for the billionaires prancing around about buying Greenland and taking Panama and drill baby drill, with the tech giants bowing before Trump, with newspapers conceding to this crazy tyrant wanting total loyalty...and with the man now wanting to replace Stefanik and be our legislator. The greed, the power of money, the power that wants control over people, over earth. It is shameful...shameful that people voted for Trump and that our community might actually choose this totally unqualified person as our representative. I think of the total loss of values and integrity and thinking....what are we, they, thinking. I think of Jimmy Carter, of honesty, caring for human rights and for our earth, of saying he would not lie, of being open to the richness of diversity, of his good works in the world throughout his life. I think of the dignity of Harris when she followed the constitution on January 6--for her grace and goodness and what could have been if she had been elected. I think of Biden doing all he can protecting sacred areas, protecting our earth, working for all people. I think of lies, of propaganda, of money...Carter spoke about the innate goodness of people; I think of how that goodness is covered over with hate and violence, greed and ignorance. I will watch the honoring of Carter --it will do my heart good to hear about what is possible.

Thanks, Bea! And if I may, President Carter was also a man of authentic faith who sought to live out his faith both in his personal life and in the public square, without imposing that faith on others or using government to promote it.

Bravo to your comments. As I sat yesterday watching and listening to the proceedings in the Rotunda for Jimmy Carter, I couldn't help thinking about what a good, kind and gracious man he was, wanting what was right for for the people of our country. Then the thought struck me of will take place in our country in two weeks. I consider it a total embarrassment, not only for our country, but for the world. I turn 82 this week. Will I live to see normalcy or will I have to witness total lunacy for the next four years?

yes, the contrast is so extreme...I am almost 80.

I just went to the library to the gathering about protecting our undocumented neighbors and friends and I thought: this is not really new....the JIm Crow South, the McCathy period, the targeting for hate....the standard script creating fear and violence for greed and power....more or less than lunacy....danger and cruelty

This past election, it seems like more and more millionaires and billionaires are running for office. Tester, a farmer and a moderate democrat and fifth generation Montanian was beaten by a millionaire from Laguna Beach, CA. He bought a house in Montana. Same with OH, Sherrod Brown was beaten by a man who brought lots of money to buy his seat though didn't live in OH. Ditto PA with Senator Bob Casey, another millionaire carpetbagger won the election. Perhaps it's naive to pine for the days of "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington". I believe those days are truly over. Few statesmen exist anymore. The millionaires buy their seats as it appears Mr. Constantino is willing to do (and I'm told owns no house in the CD 21). Look at President Elon Musk, who now thinks he's a kingmaker and owner of planet Earth. Oh, but the price of eggs!
