Great story Ken, brought back memories of Staff Sargent Dain Venne who lost his life in Afghanistan.

The entire community attended his services. His Dad is a good friend mine, and I watched Dain from his childhood grow into the great young man he had become. Different world then.......

Wow another good & so interesting column Ken and thanks to Bryce and all those brave heroes who survived and I've already said a prayer for those that didn't. They all tried & did make a difference!!! God Bless 'em.

I think Bryce could say he tried to help in a country which is now eating and selling body parts due to the starvation there. I will always think of him now when I hear these tragic things going on there now.

Thank you, Ken - and thank you all for the kind thoughts! I couldn't be more appreciative of my family & friends, as well as the community that I grew up in. All of those folks gave me something to come home to and helped me stay on my feet when I returned.

I have to give a huge shoutout to everyone at the Brain Treatment Foundation. They were able to help me when I absolutely needed it most. If you're looking for a worthy charity to support, check them out!

It’s also the reminder of the struggles so many have after they return. That should never be forgotten either.
