Ken, yet again another thoughtful post. We in the US talk a good line about caring for children but somehow the money is never there to support that rhetoric. We still have a shockingly high infant morality rate in this country, a societal neglect of both women and children.

And sadly most of those problems are in states that will outlaw abortion without providing any support for expectant mothers.

I think we need a Chart on how many children in foster care felt they were given every opportunity of a loving caring well provided childhood. Medical Educational and Support from the families they were put in. In PA. we had a program called Cash for Kids #follow the money! From small offenses to larger ones, it was cruel and heads rolled. LETS HEAR FROM THOSE KIDS the meaning of rejection and punishment. And I might add Child Support is a JOKE (I know for a fact the courts did Nothing for me or my children) ✍

Wonderful article again today, You are so right, once the baby is born, many people don’t care what happens to them. I wish they’d visit the Suicide wards in Rikers or other prisons and ask the prisoners if they wish they’d never been born.
