I wonder if a distinctional is being made between black and Hispanics. That said, I checked a couple other sources that also repeat that all the guards were white. I did not feel the documentary was race-baiting, but in that 1971 time period, that type of racism probably was pretty common in many rural areas.
Back in the late 1990's, I visited someone at Wyoming Correctional Facility which is right next door to Attica. We were outside, and the wall to the prison was right there. You could almost touch it. What an intimidating structure!! Never thought a wall could feel so threatening! I could hear men cheering on the other side. It sounded like they were watching a baseball game or something.
It was a quote from the documentary.
What your source for the ethnicity of the guards?

I have the same memory of when I lived in Plattsburgh in the early 1980s and saw Dannemora for the first time,
I absolutely MUST see this documentary. I’ve had a lifelong concern about prison conditions. Don’t have Amazon Prime so must find out how to see it.
It's available on demand free with Showtime
Great, great, great for Gov. Hogan! Wish there were many more Republicans like that.
Thanks for that info w. Tucker.
