Regarding attendance for Adirondack Theater Festival, I’m somewhat of a regular concert-goer at the Strand. I recently saw Eric Andersen there. He’s an absolute legend in folk music. He’s worked with Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Tom Paxton, members of The Band and on and on. I think there were maybe around 20 people there. If that. Finger Lakes Guitar Quartet was roughly the same for 4 magnificent musicians.
I saw Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys there awhile back. I’d never heard of them. They put on a fantastic show for fewer than a dozen people. So glad I took a chance and went. Recently saw them again at a packed Caffe Lena. Most of the shows there are like 10 bucks for us old folks.
Gioacchino Longobardi is there on Sunday. He’s a world class pianist. It’s not really my favorite genre of music, but it’s an incredible experience to hear someone play with the virtuosity that he does. Yes, I’ve seen him there previously.
Agreed about the important production of The Chinese Lady. My first time attending ATF. Hopefully those in attendance were able to connect the dots between past history offenses that the play mentioned and the more recent ones that have occurred---all part of our sad history.
The Adirondack Theater Is such a great opportunity to see live acting, not pre-edited movies. My friend and I saw The Chinese Lady and were amazed how great the acting was including even an actor who could flip backwards yet play the violin beautifully, and how both actors could appear either young or aging and old. We enjoyed the humor of their interactions as well as how they gradually came to care for each other, and sadness of parting. You could see the youthful enthusiasm of the girl as well as how she kept pushing on ahead despite setbacks and sad situations.
I did not know that.

Since I’m here, yes Elise Stefanik is a ghoul.

And Stefanik is one of the worst politicians ever.

I agree 100 percent.
