Not only is "drug use...an existential threat to horse racing," but it seems to be such a threat to virtually everything we touch: the Olympics and through them most other sports, as well as the daily life of ordinary citizens.
I remember the end of Graig Nettles’ bat coming off and rubber balls coming out. It’s not right, but people have been trying to gain an edge in sports forever, I’m sure.
Ken where did you obtain the information you used in your “Glens Falls Police keep hit and run driver a secret” article, from the Glens Falls Police dept or from some other source? It might be interesting to see what’s happening here.
I can see my question was unclear so let me rephrase. Did the Post Star acquire their information by talking to a Glens Falls police dept official or did the Post Star get a written accident report from the Glens Falls police dept?
I have trouble even believing that modern day Americans could still support this disgusting “sport”! Do they not read the newspapers and watch the news and see the carnage at racetracks around the country from racing these animals to their death? Deplorable is what it is!
One of the most beautiful animals on the planet, yet it seems they are nothing more than a business, with numbers being the bottom line. I hope that's not the case.

Sometimes I wonder if sports is still worth it.
Sport as something to participate in certainly is worthwhile. When people start trying to get rich off it.... Well, life gets pretty ugly.

The Post-Star’s published coverage.
How did they get their information, word of mouth or from a written accident report?
The newspaper reported the police deprtment’s account.

I think you would have to ask someone who works at the newspaper.

Sadly, it is the case more than I thought it was.
I can't get over setting a tube through the nostril and throat of the horse to provide drugs to the horse...so sad
I am sure there are worse ways as well. There are two other parts of the series that are equally compelling.
