I think truth in political ads should be investigated after Fox News. Those ads are full of lies😢

I am surprised really. Just how do we define Disinformation and that what we simply disagree with? There is a difference between Fox News and opinion shows like Tucker Carlson. As for O’Reilly he I has been off air for several years. Is MSNBC on her list? Sometimes what some people call disinformation is simply because they disagree with the information being disseminated. What comes to mind is Hunter Biden’s lap top. Was that disinformation that the NY Post printed or information others did not want publicized.

This is a very dangerous road to go down, especially with the threat current threats to free speech and the press we are witnessing from both the right and left.

I would define “disinformation” as information that is intentionally used to mislead. By the examples I used, the goal was address the opinion shows on cable, but maybe more importantly especially when there are people saying things that are blatantly not true. If that is going on on MSNBC, I would hope that would be a target as well.

I don't think you can compare the two. I watch all three and the distortions and outright lies on Fox are more than alarming. Biden's laptop is a drop in the bucket compared the thousands and thousands of crazy lies Fox puts out there every day.

Are you referring to the opinion shows at night on Fox or the News on Fox? The opinion shows on MSNBC or even CNN are no better. The other issue is what is not reported and what is. And that involves all the news media.

While I agree MSNBC has a viewpoint, I don’t see the outrageous lies. Or at least not as often. But I don’t watch the cable news every night. It is good to have a life too.

Not sure what the point was about having a life too, my comment was focused on what appeared to be the one sided view of disinformation. If our standard now is who lies more, we are in serious trouble

I try to steer clear of the prime time cable because it is nothing but people spouting opinions - most of the time. I’d prefer to watch stream a good movie. I did watch some of the Fox election coverage and thought it was very even with very little difference in the conclusions with other networks. But I think it is well documented that the Fox prime time hosts tell some whoppers that are very dangerous because so many people believe them.

The opinion shows and I agree-lies of omission are a huge problem. Sometimes just partial information and distortions also. My feeling is all the information should be shared accurately and completely with no opinion involved. That is news. The election denying garbage has gone beyond the insanity level. I also believe all people (no matter red or blue) should have consequences for breaking the law. We would probably have a whole new set of politicians if that happened but it does not. Money talks and I think Jammi has it right.
