For three decades, Ken Tingley and Will Doolittle were the cornerstones for community journalist at The Post-Star in Glens Falls, N.Y. As editors, Tingley and Doolittle were award-winning journalists on a national scale. Tingley retired in 2020 while Doolittle followed in 2021. Since retiring, Tingley has written three books about newspapers and journalism.

“The Last American Editor” is a collection of 83 inspirational column that chronicle the lives of everyday people in the Capital District and North Country of upstate New York. It was published in 2020. Tingley followed that up in 2023 with “The Last American Editor, Vol. 2” that includes another 90 columns from his days at The Post-Star.

“The Last American Newspaper” chronicles the great work done by the men and the women at The Post-Star over two decades and how that work made its communities a better place to live. It asks the question: Who will do that work in the future?

Doolittle, who wrote a column at The Post-Star for three decades, and has won dozens of journalism awards over the years joined “The Front Page” in 2022 and writes a Sunday column.
