Thank you for sharing that link on Tim Grimm, that's a great video. I check out his website and YouTube channel, looks like he's heading out on tour to St. Paul, MN in March. He should get a warm welcome there.
I came across that video on facebook too, and shared it. I felt the same way looking at the crowd, and seeing their reaction. I hope those few who didn’t clap or cheer at the end felt a little shame. It would be a start.
Re “banned books”, a recent sad, but beautiful one that was pulled from the Naval Academy library (and, I believe, other government related facilities) a few years ago is “Horse” by Pulitzer Prize winner Geraldine Brooks. In a way it is a two-fer: a story of race at the track and a brilliant picture of the early days of horse racing,
I believe I read that - of course dont remember much about it - was a few years ago. Just may go back & re-read it. Why in the world would that need to be banned? On the other hand, why WTH would any of these need to be banned. What are they afraid of? I mean, obviously they are!
Just a dancing recommendation: What I Like About You by the Romantics. Heard it at the over-55 class at the gym and had to exercise my brain to remember to download it later, LOL.
The needlework/artwork is FABULOUS.
Housekeeping note: letting my subscription time out since Substack is designed to not offer options to update info (email or card) on the fly and this is my stubborn effort at regaining control of a badly designed Substack with limited choices that keep one locked into the absolute not-wanted option. I believe it is by design.
Is it too late to have Tim Grimm sing "Broken Truth" sometime during today's Super Bowl telecast? Trumpty Dumpty and his cult have already been singing (off-key, of course) their own broken truth about the NFL's planned performers and offering their own musical interlude starring racist extraordinaire and Oval Office guest star Kid Rock (talk about feeble and feckless, two words from the MAGA limited vocabulary). I only wish the bar Grimm sang in was a lot larger. Those good 'ol white boys' reactions, in my opinion, were more shame, embarrassment and disgust with themselves for being obvious closed-minded shills for everything that's wrong today.
What a wonderful idea. Wouldn't that be the best thing? I'd love to see someone very rich and principled (is that a thing?) buy advertising time just to play that song.
Thanks for the Tim Grimm link.

🕺✌️🖖
Great song! I love how the grumpy guys in red didn't clap but the women with them did.
Also, LOVE the embroidery pieces. Art is resistance!
Thank you for sharing that Tim Grimm link.

Thank you for sharing a scene from your life with Bella. It was so full of love and life. I love that you dance for her.
Stunning needlework! When & where is the show?
I believe at Birds of a Feather gallery in Chestertown in September, but it isn't set yet. When it is, I'll let everyone know.
Thx!

That is a fun song. As for the update info, I'm sorry about that. I didn't know it was difficult.

Banning books: the Nazis did the same by burning them! How did that turn out for some and ultimately for the perpetrators as well?
Great song! That bar looks like it could be in Stony Creek, where I hope people feel the same way about that soulless one.
And I am so touched at how you and Bella still tell each other of your love.
Watching the Tim Grimm video & watching the audience - you can see the folks who disagree - by the expression on their faces as he sings.
I'll have to look for the lyrics somewhere - I have a problem with my hearing - music was great.
But I want to see the lyrics!

I found them - posted the link below? above? Thank you anyway.
Sorry - yes your daughter's pieces are beautiful.
