Stefanik’s future? She can find work at Stewart’s. They need employees according to signs on the door. This would give her an opportunity to do real work serving the public.

Julie Wash's avatar

She's taken paychecks from the family before, nyet?

Not sure StefaniQ's qualified for a Stewart's clerk (or any other public-facing position) because the personnel are friendly, get to know their regular customers, are helpful and accommodating -- traits of which she knows zippo. I don't know if Stewart's is one of the dregs that ever donated to her campaigns, but I know the two top Dake family members (both men, of course) and the corporation itself donated to the final reelection campaign -- there is a God -- of the mini-tRump Repuglican Moreau town supervisor in 2023, even when all indications pointed to his defeat (and that of two of his acolytes). And, yes, he lost in a wholly embarrassing landslide.

Stewart's has higher standards than that.

I assure you that while a student at Albany Academy for Girls, Stefanik would not have gotten away without answering a direct question. This skill was learned later in life!

',,,Trump’s tweets are primarily for promotional purposes and media consumption within the United States...no attention be paid to these statements," per Iranian media.

In addition, the U.S. stock market should stop focusing on what Trump says and focus more on what he actually does (or tries to do.) The S&P 500 goes up and down like a Pop-Tart based on Trump's pronouncements that have no basis in reality. One would think investors -- including institutional and international investors -- would have caught on by now to Trump's carnival sideshow barker routine.

She surfaces…like marsh gas in a fetid swamp.

How apt to tie her to making the climate worse too. And it made me chuckle. Thx.

I have a feeling she'll run for Schumer's seat in 2028. She has million$ in her campaign coffers before she announced her "retirement" from the House.

According to the Investopedia website, she has several options, including donating those funds to charity, which I seriously doubt, since she lacks "moral clarity", to use one of her favorite lines.

I read about the rules with her political slush fund too. Thanks for posting, will be more "fun" to watch, if watching $tefanik is fun.

I'm betting StefaniQ will take a page out of Glens Falls' favorite son (LOL) and former state Senate Repuglican majority leader Joe Bruno when it comes to spending campaign money. It was revealed Bruno, actually a ruthless dictator and crooked elected official despite the conviction reversal, spent from his election fund enough to install an in-ground pool at his Brunswick estate, along with related amenities. When pressed by the media for an explanation, he flippantly remarked the pool was needed to entertain more lobbyists, big-money donors, VIPs, influence seekers, et. al. So, he spent campaign donations for personal luxuries so he could collect more campaign donations (better known as bribes). It's a recurring theme for certain familia, eh? BTW, StefaniQ could return a big chunk of her campaign cash to their original donors now that she's not running for reelection. Oh, look, a pig just flew by my window.

On $tefanik: her party as "atrophied?" Huh. Maybe Eli$e can write a book on her role in that movement to the "historic low" she points to. Like she is *above* it? She is pretty hilarious.

And her anti-semitism tome? Well-funded current Israeli PR, and divisive--she was a Jared Kushner/Netanyahu true believer, not a Jewish ally. She killed two female university presidents' careers for her anti-semitism? She appears to be a tool of a very corrupt Israeli government, and was willing for close to a decade (if you round up nine, it goes to ten) to support any means to an end of her historically violent and anti-female GOP, and became a millionaire many times over doing it. She worked for a pedophile, folks. And if she was in the inner intel circle with her role on House Intel, she was not naive to the truth. Shame on her, on sooooo many levels, political, human, climate, moral.

Interesting, at one time her leading NY donor was Paul Singer, Jewish financial guy in NYC, but he is now a persona non grata among the hard line Israeli nationalists. What changed? And why wasn't $tefanik willing to fight, really fight, to win a tough race for governor? What did she do to fight anti-semitism at Harvard while she was there? After she left? Why wasn't she more upset that the Harvard president gave Epstein an office on campus? She doesn't care about abusing females (girls and women), trafficking, corruption, foreign malign influence, working for an abusive boss. She took the money and shook hands and defended the talking points of the historically low GOP.

Own it, Eli$e. Where is the self-reflection and growth? A forty year old politcal virgin. It would make a great comedy.

Yes, Stefanik has her own antisemitism problems, her submissiveness to and defense of an adjudicated felon, rapist, and an all around felon of the highest degree.

Julie Wash's avatar

Where you see submissiveness I see a true equal (politically-feminist Eli$e) expedient opportunist. Where you see defense I see offensive (two meanings) obstruction of the truth. $he was all in and a leader on her "team Trump." I have saved photos of her early, smiley thumbs-up on Air Force One, shaking hands with Trump at her Mar-a-Lago fundraiser, and, most recently, her toddler son holding a Trump sign at the latest GOP convention.

Can't wait to see what she comes up with next, or what expedient opportunity is presented that she, again, buys-in on. Polymarket, anyone? What does Jared have in store for his "Poisoned Ivy" Harvard pal?

mike parwana's avatar

I say “submissive” because Trump makes everyone around him be submissive before they join his team. He does it by forcing them to accept an insult of one kind or other. In Stefanik’s case at Fort Drum he introduced her by mispronouncing her name. She smiled and ignored the diminishment. That is when Trump had her. Certainly she is an opportunist, but a submissive one who refused to correct him on her own name. Every single person in Trump’s orbit goes through the ritual of submission form “little Marco” to Ted Cruz’s “ugly wife.”

Julie Wash's avatar

Okay, so, submissive by choice. Like Melania, $70M richer by way of Jeff Bezos, also submissive by choice, and also like the entire GOP, also submissive by choice.

There is submissive, then there is complicit as a means to an end. Allowing her name to be mispronounced is a small means to her end, let's ask if it ever bothered her. Does it bother her now? If only we could ask.

Julie Wash's avatar

An offer she couldn't refuse? :-)

I write this as a 72 year old Jew, who has forgotten more about anti-semitism than El$ie, the Borden's $tefanik, will ever learn.

I used to think that Jared Ku$hner was the most stupid humanoid ever to have attended Harvard. I doff my cap to El$ie, who long ago made me eat those words.

Bereft of brains, beauty, and morals, she stalks the landscape in search of fame, married to another professional liar (a gun industry lobbiest).

My takeaway? Her young son Sam stands zero chance of becoming a decent and productive member of society, being raised in such a household. Surely a surfeit of money is the only thing keeping representatives of the Office of Child and Family services from knocking on their door.

Points for honesty when Elise Stefanik said she’d only serve 5 terms anyway. She’s spent the 6th doing anything but representing the North Country.

I’d give John Sweeney better odds of having a political career in the future. At least he’s not carrying the albatross of being a total Trump stooge. Drunk driving, spousal abuse and palling around with Abramoff pale in comparison to what Stefanik is guilty of.

And calls for millions of Americans to peacefully monitor polling places, with lawn chairs and cell phones, gathering information for prosecutors to use against any federal agent who interferes with elections.

Stefanik/Trump still enjoy strong support up here. I predict we'll be stuck with Smullen who already has shown he's open to unethical behavior after pleading guilty to receiving tax exemptions for veterans on two properties he owned. https://wibx950.com/local-assemblyman-pleads-guilty-settles-case/. Will Smullen support legislation to ban insider trading for our federally elected officials or will he go along with this unethical side hustle?

Dominic Tom's avatar

If the election were a football game, I'm positive we'd decline the penalties of having either Smullen or Constantino on the field.

What a world.

I stay grounded by remembering that throughout history it has been ever thus.

We are fighting the ancient fight.

We are going to win.

The kids are going to amaze us and save us.

We borned them.

We get credit.

Our job is still difficult.

We are more than equal to it.

Washington took a ragtag group and led it to defeating the world’s military power.

Lincoln took the sane Patriots to victory and saved the Union.

Roosevelt eased the Depression and ultimately pulled us out of it. And defeated facism.

We can handle these doors and traitors.

Right makes might.

It has been ever thus.

Remember that.
