The Chapman was indeed even more beautiful this past holiday season. Both upstairs and downstairs displays offered nostalgia and whimsy and a wonderful connection to past local history. With a $100 supporting membership you get two free memberships which make great birthday or Christmas gifts for younger people. I gave one to my massage therapist who brought her pre-teen daughter and son to the museum displays and a program designed for youth.
Perhaps there should be a “Hall of Shame” or “ Hall of Infamy” for Elise and the Congressional cult of spineless, shameless women and men who have abandoned integrity and moral fortitude to cull favor with their psychopathic Prez. Hall of Fame seems too dignified for this troop of traitors .
So nice to hear about a non-political topic in our troubled times! I live in Schenectady County, but I will be heading up to the Chapman this Christmas season, for sure, and even hope to hear some of the programs throughout the year.
I was going to say the same. She is still hoping to become a member of Trump's team. Maybe even a cabinet position. It's like she doesn't even realize that he could care less. Another MAGA enthusiast hung out to dry. Clueless
I couldn’t wish any harder for her to become a member of his cabinet. A lot of the ones there now seem to be pinning some high hopes on receiving pardons before he meets his maker.
StefaniQ's simply addicted to Diaper Donny and MAGA. No different from drug, alcohol, sex addicts (I'm not making light of any valid addictions). She's mesmerized by DD and how he gets away with saying and doing any damn thing he well pleases, without ramifications. Her background and rearing established her as a spoiled rotten punk, so she emulated DD to get even more unbearable. Her "MAGAness" reminds me of so many cults but especially the "Moonies" of years ago, whose faces gave away the fact they were mesmerized or hypnotized by their dear leader.
I've neglected traveling and exploring towns south from up here in Beekmantown, especially since it's quite easily reached with a drive down I-87. I'm preparing a few local trips for summer and fall season, so I'll add the Chapman to it. Thanks for the insight into it.
There a ton of Anthony Constantino signs around Plattsburgh and a handful for Stuart Amoriell. Have not seen any for Smullen or Gendebien. I watched Tom Hallock interview both Democrat candidates on Mountain Lake Journal last week. One thing about Gendebien that troubled me was his constant and primary focus on farmers. Don't get me wrong, farmers are important up here in NY21, but so are seniors, schools and healthcare. Hallock will interview the Republican candidates this week.
Stefanik has pretty much gone mute on X, but Lawler and Tenney have increased their postings showing how loyal they are to Trump and MAGA. All three should be among the first entries into the Republican Hall of Shame.
Gov. Landry is too busy trying to hand out candy to children in Greenland to be bothered by legislation that passed overwhelmingly in his state. ;-)
When Obama was president, and was attacked about everything by the Republicans, it occurred to me that the Republican Party had abandoned all interest in a better life for all, a better America. The Republican Party, now controlled by Trump, has no vision or positive values. Their values of security and fairness are based on inequality. Men are better than women, Whites than Blacks, rich than poor. This inequality is the basis of monarchy and fascism. This is the core of Elise Stefanik. Robert Reich says that the rule of Trump is teaching more and more of us these truths and will lead us out of this spiritual wasteland. I hope so.
Thank you for promoting Chapman and local history. I am looking forward to speaking up there later in the week. The board members of these institutions are very important, so thank you for serving in that role.
If Jesus came back today he would resemble a James Talarico rather than a money changer Ken Paxton. It saddens me that the once respected Republican party has morphed into a cruel, loose spending, loose ethics, planet killing, greedy, cult worshipping everything that is wrong with America name of Trump. Our allies are increasingly our soon to be former allies. We've truly lost our way. We need a Roosevelt not a Trump or Trump lackey.
Ken - thank you for spreading the word about The Chapman Museum!! I have been a volunteer for 21 years and always wish there were more people coming in the door to see the museum. Last week, we hosted the 5th grade from Glens Falls Middle School, split over 3 days, for the Ben Franklin exhibit and I loved the enthusiasm and interest of those students - many questions and many comments from them! Rebecca put together a fantastic activity and scavenger hunt for the gallery. I have to say, even a 78 year old lady (me) learned that Ben had traveled, and more importantly, STAYED in Glens Falls (them known as Wings Falls) for one night in 1776!
The museum is truly a gem for our area and the administrators are doing a fabulous job highlighting the many treasures of our area's history!
You've really seen no signs? Weird. Drive up Route 9, especially north of the intersection with Quaker/Aviation. You will see a ton of signs for multiple candidates.
As for Elise (who knew she was still around), at least she's consistent in her support for imperialist aggression.
Thanks for the reminder to visit the Chapman. I’ll toss in the Fort House and Rogers Island, too. I’m listening to Grant by Ron Chernow on Audible now. I’m probably not going to finish by Saturday but there’s a community day at Grant’s Cottage this coming weekend.
Primaries count, please show up if you are eligible to vote

Thank you for your support.
Is Stefanik still hoping from some crumbs to be thrown from her by Trump?
Or does he have something so damning on her she stays in line out of fear of disclosure?
I'm sure she is, especially if some of the cabinet members get indicted.

I disagree, I don't think she admires him in any way, but just sees him as a conduit for what she ultimately craves - more power.

They represent the pedophile-wing of the former GOP.

I saw a bunch of Constantino sighs in WAshington County today and one Gendebien.
Omg!
Defeat Stefanik!
Unfortunately, we lost that one already. She leaves undfeated.
Of course she chose to stand with evil. What could you possibly expect?

I've been told that Chenow is coming to the reading of The Last American Newspaper tonight. That would be cool.
Very nice. I hope so.
