Stefanik, on X, with her usual faux outrage is upset because Manning has not yet endorsed Stefanik's choice, Andrea Dumas. So, of course, Elise has a meltdown because Manning is not a sycophant like Dan Stec

Stec joined in on X by attacking Manning writing "@EliseStefanik is RIGHT. The current chair’s persistent rejection of outstanding candidate @AndreaDumas is the last straw. The Clinton County Republican Committee needs new leadership!"

Personally, I think they should just keep feuding amongst themselves, revealing just how full of herself Stefanik is. I hope Manning refuses to step down so we can get some popcorn and watch the show.

This is Stec on Facebook on May 18: "I was up bright and early yesterday for North Country Honor Flight, flights 60 and 61. There were 28 local Veterans participating in this special event. Thanks to my good friend Jerika Manning for working hard and helping to make the flights yesterday possible."

If this is the way Dan Stec treats his good friends, then ... he's a bad friend.

The weird thing is that despite the fact that they hang nose to butt together a lot of elected Republicans don’t really seem to like each other.

Some years ago we Queensbury Democrats supported Republican Tony Metivier because 1) we didn’t have a candidate for Ward 1, and 2) the Republicans were screwing Tony over because he wouldn’t do as he was told.

After a couple of meetings with us Dems he remarked that we really seemed to like each other.

On election night - after he had won resoundingly - he said to me ( I was Dem town chair) “I guess you’ll want me to register as a Democrat now.” I told him there was no quid pro quo on our end. We would be happy to have him, but we didn’t operate that way.

And for a while Tony stepped up his game on the town board, but then it seems like he started hanging out with his same Republican “buddies.”

Tony Metevier for some reason sent me a friend request some years ago now. After I wrote something anti Republican he sent me a message stating "he didnt realize I was like that" and ditched me lol.

I have friends who are FB friends with Tony. At some point in the last several years it seems like he drank the Kool Ade*. They’ve shown me some truly despicable posts. It’s almost like he’s morphed into Doug Irish, who (some years ago) lashed out at Tony and Dan Stec because they took a smiling picture together with Democrat Dave Strainer at what was a graduation party for Tony’s daughter - if I remember correctly.

* I’m being nice here, because in fact Tony began to post extreme racist stuff on his FB. I don’t think that people typically “become” racists later in life. I think the racism starts young and people hide it out of embarrassment unless they start to see all the racists around them come out of the closet.

I think sometimes it really is just the Kool Ade. My friend, whom I’ve literally known since the day my mom brought me home from the hospital, was not a hateful or racist person, until she started taking care of her elderly mom in Florida. A few years of constant Fox news, right wing talk radio and podcasts was all it took to completely brainwash her, or in her words, “It all started to make sense to her and she saw how wrong and evil the Democrats were.” She bought every ounce of garbage they were selling. We haven’t been in contact since the election. A 62 year long friendship down the drain. Yet another casualty of Trump’s assault on everything good and kind.

Do you have examples of the "extreme racist stuff?" Screen shots?

I do not. My friend did not screen shot them before unfriending him, unfortunately.

The fact he has not spoke up about the appearance of a conflict of interest on the Town Board has been very disappointing. He knows first hand what can happen. He should be the voice of reason here.

Stec is a lapdog for Stefanik. Anytime I've called his office "John" (don't know own his last name), simply states he has no knowledge of anything.

I used to like Dan years ago when I first met him. And then he went MAGA ..

I know it’s a cliché, but power corrupts. And some people are simply susceptible to the corrupting desire for power and attention one gains as they progress from local elected office to state to federal. (And in Stefanik’s case, back to state.)

I’m just surprised to see Elise remembers the district she “represents.” Trumpism is a really nasty personality disorder.

Elise Stefanik shows herself to be as dishonest and bullying as the pedophile she worships.

Sorry, Manning. Until Republicans reject the pedophile fascist, it doesn't matter who their candidates are. The GOP is busy demonstrating to America that it has no commitment to democracy or our Constitution. As long as grass-roots Republicans say nothing, they're complicit.

Stefanik has perfected the art lying about anything that goes against the overall Republican dogma which pretty much is focused dragging our democracy down the toilet both in Washington and locally. Also included in the group of liars is Dan Stec, another "yes" man. And let's not forget about Stefanik's husband who works for the National Shooting Sports Foundation, likely closely affiliated with the NRA (another bunch of criminals). Do any of us really feel safe? These people are evil and need to disposed of as quickly as possible, through peaceful means such as the election process. How disgusting and discouraging to live the last years of my life wondering whether American democracy will survive into the next century. Enough said.....

I have been talking with many folks who live in the Adirondacks full-time and many of them are beginning to see just how bad Trump is for them personally vis-à-vis inflation tourism decline from Canada and his bullying ways. Stefanic there’s nothing more than a mini Trump who doesn’t give a damn about her constituents and only cares about her political power.. She’s just a smaller schmuck to the bigger schmuck, Trump!

Spot on. She sold what little bit of soul she had as a young candidate, to the likes of Jordan, Nunes. After her “ show” during the quid pro quo hearings, they slapped makeup on her, put her in front of the camera at Fox, promoted fake outrage, Trump noticed her from the toilet on tv, mentioned her, then she was ALL IN.

Pedophile enabler Stefanik must be nervous.

AOC and Tionko's visit touched a nerve in Clinton Co. They came to discuss issues, Stefanik has not engaged with us since 2017. A goodbye tour does not count.

Canadian traffic was down 26% in June. https://www.wamc.org/news/2025-06-26/business-leaders-and-elected-officials-in-new-yorks-north-country-deal-with-a-dramatic-drop-in-canadian-tourism

Businesses in NY 21 are hurting yet Elise cannot bring herself to stand up to Trump for the good of her district.

Anybody else remember when she "demanded" POTUS Biden open the border during COVID because of the impact on the district?

I do. Yet we hear nothing from her now.

Sen Peter Welch in Vermont took the time to meet with his constituents in Vt, listened to their concerns about the impact on their businesses due to the Trump tarriffs.

https://mynbc5.com/article/vermont-business-owners-weigh-in-on-us-imposed-tariffs-on-canada/65670964

Elise Stefanik is arrogant, a coward & her disdain for NY 21 is apparent.

She refuses to meet with her people.

She refuses to stand up for what is needed in the district if it will impact negatively on her political career.

How many people in her district will suffer because of her support of Trump?

She doesn't care. It is obvious. She has used NY 21 to jumpstart her career.

She is as nasty and cruel as Trump.

Maybe Republicans are seeing that now.

While Stefsnik's bullying is with words, Trump's bullying includes sending federalized troops into cities with Democratic, Black & female mayors. At first, as he considers those mayors the lowest hanging fruit.

The head of the veterans group I belong to, Veterans For Peace ("honor the warrior, not the war"), liked my idea of having city groups greet such troops with flowers, putting the flowers in gun barrels when possible, gently saying with a smile, "We are not intimidated." This could create a 'Sixties vibe that Trump'll hate.
